Our country, Cambodia, has long suffered as a small and impoverished nation, repeatedly invaded and violated by the foreign Siamese—now called Thailand—throughout history. Even today, Thailand is the one who initiated the recent conflict. On May 28, they opened fire on Cambodian forces, killing a soldier. This led to an escalation of clashes that has continued up until July 24.
Most recently, Thai military forces launched a preemptive attack on Cambodia’s frontline troops by firing six small shells near the area of Ta Moan Thom temple. In response, Cambodian forces retaliated in self-defense and to protect the national sovereignty and territory of Cambodia.
Thailand, being a large and wealthy country, possesses powerful and modern weapons, including F-16 fighter jets, which are currently being used to attack Cambodia.
