BREAKING: A Deep Betrayal — 20 Cambodian Soldiers Captured After Ceasefire by Thai Forces
This is not just a violation of military conduct — it is a betrayal of peace, honor, and international law.

On the morning of July 29, 2025, following a mutually agreed ceasefire, Thai soldiers approached the Cambodian frontline at Chom Trey, Preah Vihear, waving at our troops in a friendly and peaceful manner. Trusting in the spirit of peace, Cambodian soldiers stepped forward in good faith, welcoming them with smiles. The Thai soldiers even requested group photos, further convincing our troops of their sincerity.

But this was a calculated trap.
While our soldiers were standing peacefully for the photos, armed Thai troops hidden nearby rushed in, aimed their rifles, and captured our men at gunpoint.
- 1 soldier escaped during the chaos.
- 2 are believed killed.
- 17 others were taken hostage.
This shameful action was not only a clear violation of the ceasefire, but a cowardly act of deceit.

Cambodian soldiers have followed orders with discipline, dignity, and loyalty — not only to their commanders but also to the principles of peace.

Thailand’s actions, however, show disrespect for peace, and dishonor their own people and the international community. They used peace as a disguise to commit a violent and premeditated act of betrayal.

This is not the first time.
While Cambodia has respected every ceasefire, Thailand has continued to provoke, deceive, and manipulate the truth.
In the early hours after the ceasefire, Thai forces still opened fire, trying to provoke retaliation.

They hide behind misleading headlines and blame-shifting, hoping to control the global narrative.
Meanwhile, Cambodia stands firm in dignity — but dignity cannot go unanswered when met with betrayal.

We call for:
✅ An independent international investigation into this breach of ceasefire and the illegal detention of Cambodian soldiers.
✅ Global media and human rights organizations to raise their voices and demand accountability.

This is not just a border issue.
This is about truth. This is about justice. This is about peace.
🇰🇭 Cambodia will not be silent. The world must not turn away.

Thailand has violated the ceasefire agreement by arresting 20 Cambodian soldiers (and shooting two others whose conditions remain unknown—whether dead or alive) under the pretense of inviting them to shake hands and take group photos. Thailand’s actions constitute a breach of the Kuala Lumpur ceasefire agreement and are in violation of international law, specifically the 1949 Geneva Conventions concerning the treatment of prisoners of war (POWs). Cambodia must gather evidence in order to condemn Thailand for committing war crimes.

And instantly… Cambodia was blamed.

Because the truth travels faster than propaganda.

🚀 The BM-21: What Thailand Didn’t Expect You to Know
Cambodia owns Soviet-made BM-21 rocket launchers.
But these rockets have a maximum range of 30 to 40 km. That’s it.

It is physically impossible for Cambodia to strike a target 120 km away.

So why did Thailand blame us?

And Thailand counted on that.

“The sacred site of Preah Vihear Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is currently facing serious threats due to intensified shelling carried out by Thai military forces.

In response, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia urgently appeals to the Co-Chairs of the International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of Preah Vihear (ICC-Preah Vihear), as well as the UNESCO Representative in Phnom Penh, to take immediate and effective action.

We call for the international community’s swift intervention to preserve and protect Preah Vihear Temple — not only as a cultural treasure of Cambodia, but as a heritage site belonging to all humanity — from further damage caused by military aggression.”
