I’m always surprised by some of the comments I get on my paintings. A recent comment of my sunflower heads painting was that the painting would have been better with fresh sunflowers 🙄. It’s important to ask yourself what the artist may have had in mind when they painted a particular painting. Was it about bright colors, more tonal, was it about a mood Does the artist paint something because they love the subject matter. Is there beauty in grays? Is there beauty in getting older? I guess some don’t see the beauty like I do in sunflower heads. They represent a life fully lived but still giving life for the next generation. I think I’ll paint more sunflower heads because I think they are beautiful
