Wing Bank has officially handed over loan write-off certificates totaling nearly USD 50,000 to three families of injured soldiers in Oddar Meanchey province, affected by the Khmer–Thai border conflict.

In line with the appeal of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and under the guidance of the National Bank of Cambodia, Wing Bank has waived debts for martyred or permanently disabled soldiers and reduced debts by 75% for those injured.

Since late July 2025, the bank has worked closely with local authorities and families to ensure timely support. “You are the heroes of Cambodia,” said Uth Soeurng, Executive Director of Personal Banking, during the handover ceremony.

This initiative joins the broader relief efforts led by Neak Oknha Kith Meng and Lok Chumteav Neak Oknha Mao Chamnan, whose Foundation for Refugee Assistance has already supported over 2,000 displaced families.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is set to expand its collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI).
During a meeting in Phnom Penh, Minister Hem Vanndy and ADB outlined four key priorities:
✅ Strengthening Cambodia’s national quality infrastructure
✅ Supporting Khmer Enterprise to scale MSMEs & startups
✅ Enhancing national productivity for industrial competitiveness
✅ Advancing regulatory development and reforms

“As Cambodia approaches LDC graduation in 2029, we must not only strengthen government capacity but also build industries themselves,” Minister Vanndy said.

ADB reaffirmed its readiness to work closely with MISTI to move these initiatives forward.

Cambodia and China are taking their “ironclad” partnership to the next level.

During a high-level meeting in Beijing, H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, and H.E. Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of China, discussed key projects under the Cambodia–China FTA and MoUs.

Highlights include:
✅ Funan Techo Canal Project
✅ Upgrades to National Roads No. 3 & No. 7
✅ Wastewater modernization in Preah Sihanouk
✅ Expansion of fish & rice exports through a dedicated corridor
✅ Growth of SEZs – 57 approved, 11 with Chinese investment

Chinese FDI has risen from less than $500M in 2012 to $3.4B in 2024. Bilateral trade reached $12.7B in the first eight months of 2025 alone.

SEZs are proving to be powerful engines of growth, attracting nearly 400 projects since 2020 and creating opportunities for both nations.

Cambodia and China have taken another step forward in strengthening regional cooperation. On 17 September 2025, Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin co-signed the Agreement on the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Special Fund 2025 in Phnom Penh.

Through this agreement, Cambodia will receive around USD 2.5 million in support for 11 projects covering tourism, health, agriculture, cultural conservation, women’s entrepreneurship, TVET, MSME digital adoption, and combating misinformation.

Over the past decade, the MLC Special Fund has already supported 95 projects in Cambodia, underscoring a shared commitment to peace, prosperity, and sustainable development across the Mekong-Lancang region.
