Temple Tour: Siem Reap

This is the Banyon Temple! It has over 200 giant stone faces 🩶 This temple was used to celebrate major events in Khmer life: markets, festivals, battles, and historic events. Look at the intricate stone carvings!! My favorites are the elephants!

We loved exploring the temples here! This is

🇰🇭 This temple is featured on Cambodia’s flag!
⛰️ Symbolizes the peaks of Mount Meru, a sacred mountain in both Hindu and Buddhist beliefs
💧 Surrounded by a massive moat
🌺 Intricate sandstone carvings, including huge lotus statues

Pro Tip: Go earlier in the morning to beat the crowds and the heat!!
