🇳🇱 TULIP SEASON IN 🇳🇱 IS OFFICIALLY OVER😔🌷 - The private fields are cut & today is the last day to & other show gardens!

I hope you enjoyed this season as much as I did & if you missed it & are coming to the Netherlands for it next year, SAVE this list, with everything you need to know!

📅 BEST TIME TO VISIT:
Blooming starts around half April but can differ due to the weather. If you want to see all rows in FULL COLOR and make sure you are not too early or late, plan your visit to 🇳🇱 in between 20- 30 April!

📍(PAID) LOCATIONS:
This 🎥 shows some of my fave (paid) ⚘️ spots, where you are allowed to walk through the flower fields, have picnics & shoot all you want, without harming the farmer’s crop:

🌷 in Lisse
🌷 - the largest flower display of Europe in Lisse
🌷 .zn in Noordwijkerhout

📍FREE (PRIVATE) FIELDS:
🌷 Several fields of , a befriended farmer that has flowerfields throughout the ‘Bollenstreek’
🌷 Most of these tulip fields can be seen from the side of the road around Lisse, Hillegom, Sassenheim, Voorhout, Vogelenzang, de Zilk, Noordwijk & Noordwijkerhout
🌷 Zuid-Holland - Goeree-Overflakkee: around Middelharnis, Oude-Tonge & Nieuwe-Tonge
🌷Noord-Holland: around Alkmaar, Julianadorp, Schagen, Hoorn & Heerhugowaard
🌷Flevopolder: Lelystad & Zeewolde, here you can follow the tulip route by car or bike
🌷Urk & Dronten area, located just above the Flevopolder.

Most fields are publicly accessible & you can take pics in front of them, but DON’T walk through them without permission of the farmer! And when allowed it’s even better to explore them by drone instead‼️

Luckily May - Sept. are also perfect months to visit my homeland, as the weather is generally lovely, perfect for cycling & other flowers will be blooming too!🏵

🦙CUTENESS OVERLOAD, EVER BEEN TO AN ALPACA FARM? Last Friday I visited for a .benelux photography event with & it was sooo fun!🦙

We devoured pizzas & dessert right in the alpacalounge, surrounded by a few of these 86 adorable fluffballs. They started with just 5 alpacas… now they’re a whole squad of unique personalities! I even got to hold baby River, the 1.5-month-old newest addition 🥹

Extra tips: at this farm in Brabant (in the south of 🇳🇱) you can walk with alpacas, picnic among them, feed them, and stay over on the glamping right next door. Their bar also serves seriously delicious drinks & snacks!

They’re super soft, endlessly curious, and food-obsessed… but don’t expect big cuddles 😜 Who’s coming with me next time? 👀

TOP 5 NATURE AREAS IN 🇳🇱 - PERFECT FOR SOME 🌿 THERAPY🌳
Did you know that the Netherlands has the loveliest nature areas, besides the tulip fields in spring, free to visit year-round, also gorgeous in summer & autumn?!

For example the Dutch heather is extra spectacular on the Hoge Veluwe from Aug-Sept, when large fields turn purple (SAVE for later)💜
And you can easily spot foxes, deer, Scottish Highlanders & other wildlife in many of these national parks & dune areas, which are best explored on foot or, as a real Dutchie, by cycling🥰🚲
