Currently reading "Yawar Fiesta" by Peruvian novelist, anthropologist and ethnologist José María Arguedas.

It's giving me ideas on how to approach this Peruvian story: the battle against colonialism and a yearning to maintain cultural identity for traditional Andean bull ceremonies. 🇵🇪

How integral is religion to bullfighting? Can you be an atheist and still fight bulls? Can there be a bullfight with no chapel? 🕯️🙏

Prior to interviewing someone, we do about 90-minutes of research in order to produce strong questions. 📚🎬

But, remember, because this documentary is in Spanish, you need to add some more time to translate everything. You guessed it: still researching and writing in English and then reproducing in Spanish. ✍️

Star of "Ella Es El Matador", trailblazer working in Latin America, survivor of several gorings and the first woman to take the alternativa in Spain. 🐂

What an exciting day it was on Saturday to film Maripaz Vega's final corrida in Málaga! A beautiful end to a storied career! 👏
