CHOICE RADIO went on air the 24th of November 2005 with its mission being to provide entertaining and enlightening programming while seeking to facilitate change and social progress. A typical day includes selections from an eclectic mix of music, including reggae, soca, calypso, gospel, soul, r & b, jazz, country-western, oldies and salsa with an emphasis on local artists, interspersed with a wid
e variety of lively talk topics hosted by a cross-section of members of the community. An important key to the success of CHOICE is that we operate with an ‘open door’ policy. Whatever is being promoted by individuals, groups or businesses, - you are encouraged to come on air, live, and talk about it. When you phone CHOICE, you are subject to being put on the air which has been a source of fun and laughter as many people are not used to this. We also welcome teachers and children on air to read poetry, essays and other creative items. Our 'Community Connections' (events) are very important to us as it reflects the needs and activities of our listeners so we strive to share this information often on air. Our advertising and sponsorship rates are extremely competitive and our specials are designed to allow small businesses to be able to stretch their advertising dollar. Listenership covers a wide range of ages, as indicated by callers, due to program content which covers children, adults and senior citizens. We also cater to Spanish speakers, a number of whom now reside in the Federation, through the inception of a Spanish program. Our stereophonic FM signal is sharp, clear and free of static interference.
