My first time at the AMAs… and the biggest takeaway wasn’t just the awards.

It was witnessing (yet again) the level of emotional connection BTS holds.

Everywhere I turned, people were talking about BTS, waiting for BTS, cheering for BTS! And when they swept all three awards they were nominated for, the energy in the room said everything! 🔥

As a therapist, moments like this remind me that people stay connected to artists who help them feel understood, hopeful, and seen during different seasons of life. That kind of impact lasts!

What was your favorite BTS AMA moment!! I definitely had more than a few…….💜

As a Korean American licensed therapist, hearing “Arirang” in Vegas hit me like a ton of bricks!

Hearing thousands of voices from all backgrounds and walks of life - singing it in Korean here in the U.S. - was so amazing! I was verklempt for a bit…..

And seeing BTS pause to listen to the crowd sing back to them? Wow….

Sometimes healing shows up on the floor of a massive concert stadium. 🥹

What has been your most healing or emotional BTS concert moment so far this tour? 💜

As a Korean American licensed therapist who studies the intersection of mental health, identity, and culture, I wanted to share a more nuanced perspective on the Perfect Crown controversy.

I think this conversation is bigger than a drama. Historical trauma, identity, collectivist culture, public accountability, and online polarization are all intersecting at once.

And from a mental health perspective, two things can be true at the same time: accountability and empathy can coexist. Understanding one side does not have to mean attacking the other.

Curious what your thoughts are after hearing my perspective.

I didn’t defend my fangirling. I translated it.

That moment reminded me of something important. When we consistently show up for something we care about, it shapes identity and strengthens connection.

Restoring vintage cars. Tracking sports stats. And...collecting lightsticks.

Same psychology.

Sometimes the difference isn’t the passion. It’s the perspective we bring to it.😉

Passion doesn’t need permission. It needs perspective.💜

What’s something you love that you’ve had to ‘translate’ for other people?

Really loving the drama the K-Drama - “We Are All Trying Here!”

There’s so much to process and unpack which I’ll do slowly and surely.

Normalize talking about how K-Dramas and fandom help mental health.

Feeling seen, emotionally connected, and understood matters more than people realize! 💜
