A second set of eyes on the sky 🌌

Earlier this year NASA's James Webb Space Telescope released these now famous images revealing the universe like never before.

Webb, however, will not pursue its exploration of the universe on its own. It is designed to work in concert with our many other telescopes including our Chandra X-ray Observatory. These new versions of Webb’s first images combine its infrared data with X-rays collected by Chandra, further enhancing the originals and revealing even more information than previously observed. https://go.nasa.gov/3rvGKxB

Solar flares are powerful bursts of radiation. Harmful radiation from a flare cannot pass through Earth’s atmosphere to physically affect humans on the ground, however – when intense enough – they can disturb the atmosphere in the layer where GPS & communications signals travel.

Mt. Baekdu (백두산) in North Korea

It is the highest mountain on the Korean peninsula at about 2,750 meters (9,000 ft) above sea level.

The mountain has been considered sacred by Koreans throughout history. According to Korean mythology, it was the birthplace of Dangun, the founder of the first Korean kingdom, Gojoseon (2333–108 BC), whose parents were said to be Hwanung, the Son of Heaven, and Ungnyeo, a bear who had been transformed into a woman. Many subsequent kingdoms of Korea, such as Buyeo, Goguryeo, Balhae, Goryeo and Joseon worshiped the mountain.
