The fourth branch of ‘Busan Chang-eop-ga Kkum’, an urban startup and residential complex for young entrepreneurs, has opened. The facility was remodelled from a former public daycare centre in Haeundae-gu District, which closed in March last year, into a startup space.

BeFM, operated by Busan Global City Foundation, will celebrate its 16th anniversary tomorrow with a special broadcast titled "BeFM’s Sweet 16: Glocal and Beyond." Having surpassed 120,000 YouTube subscribers as of February this year and more, BeFM continues to expand its reach with diverse video content. The special broadcast will reflect on Busan’s global growth, citizens' English learning experiences and others, engaging with listeners via radio, YouTube and more.

Myeongji Port in Gangseo-gu District has been selected for the 2025 Fishing Village Revitalization Project, organized by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The project aims to improve living and economic conditions in underdeveloped fishing villages and encourage new workforce settlement. With this selection, Myeongji Port will receive a total of 4.36 billion KRW, including 3 billion KRW in government funding and more, over the next three years, starting this year.

Busan City will allocate 26.7 billion KRW this year to reduce air pollution from vehicle emissions by supporting the early scrapping of old diesel vehicles. The program targets 8,800 vehicles, including 4,800 Grade 5, 3,900 Grade 4 diesel cars, construction equipment and others. Vehicles that have already been retrofitted with emission-reduction devices or converted to low-emission engines with government support are not eligible for the program.

부산시는 자동차 배출가스를 줄이기 위해 올해 267억원을 투입해 노후 경유차의 조기 폐차를 지원합니다. 시는 5등급 4천 800대, 4등급 3천 900대, 건설기계 등 총 8천 800대의 노후된 경유차의 조기 폐차를 지원할 계획입니다. 정부 지원을 받아 배출가스 저감장치를 부착하거나 저공해엔진으로 개조한 자동차는 지원 대상에서 제외됩니다.

A fire broke out on the 5th floor of a residential building in Haeundae-gu District at 12:40 a.m. today. A resident in his 40s suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital but later passed away. The fire, which started in the living room, caused 750,000 KRW in property damage
and was extinguished in about 30 minutes. Police and fire authorities will conduct a joint investigation to determine the cause.

오늘 0시 40분쯤 해운대구 한 주택 5층에서 불이 나 40대 거주자가 중상을 입고 병원으로 옮겨졌으나 숨졌습니다. 집 거실에서 발생한 불은 소방서 추산 75만원 상당의 재산 피해를 내고 30여분 만에 꺼졌으며 경찰과 소방당국은 화재 원인을 밝히기 위해 합동 감식을 진행할 예정입니다.

Busan’s total fertility rate and number of births increased last year for the first time in nine years. According to Statistics Korea, Busan’s total fertility rate reached 0.68, marking the first rebound since 2015, when it stood at 1.14. The number of births rose to 13,063, up 1.5% from the previous year. Nationwide, 14 regions, including Busan, Seoul, Incheon and others, saw an increase, while three regions,
including Gwangju, Gangwon and others, recorded a decline.

지난해 부산의 합계출산율과 출생아수 모두 9년 만에 처음으로 증가했습니다. 통계청이 발표한 지난해 부산지역 합계 출산율은 0.68명으로 2015년 합계출산율 1.14명 이후 감소하다가 처음 수치가 반등했습니다. 지난해 부산 출생아 수는 1만 3천63명으로 전년보다 1.5%(197명) 늘었습니다. 전국 시도 중 부산, 서울, 인천 등 14곳은 증가했고, 광주, 강원 등 3곳은 감소했습니다.

At around 1 p.m. today, a city bus collided with another bus that was stopped at a bus stop for passenger drop-off in Munhyeon-dong, Nam-gu. As a result, over 10 passengers were transported to the hospital for treatment. The police are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.

오늘 낮 1시쯤 남구 문현동 버스 정류소에서 시내버스가 승객 하차를 위해 정차해 있는 또 다른 버스를 들이받았습니다.
이 사고로 버스 승객 10여명이 병원으로 옮겨졌으며 경찰은 정확한 사고 원인을 조사 중입니다.

With the Busan Governor of Education by-election set for April 2, preliminary candidates are actively securing support, aligning themselves with centrist-conservative or progressive positions.
As of today, six candidates from the centrist-conservative bloc and two candidates from the progressive bloc have either registered as preliminary candidates or declared their intent to run, according to the Busan City Election Commission.

오는 4월 2일 부산시교육감 재선거를 앞두고 예비후보들이 중도 보수와 진보 성향을 드러내며 지지 세력 확보에 나섰습니다.
오늘 기준 부산시선거관리위원회에 예비후보로 등록했거나 출마 의사를 밝힌 사람은 중도·보수 진영 6명, 진보 진영 2명입니다.

Uneven platform surfaces have emerged at various locations in Busan Station, prompting Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) to investigate the cause.
The warping of platform edges is suspected to be caused by aging infrastructure and increased passenger traffic.
KORAIL has requested a detailed safety inspection from the Korea National Railway and plans to conduct a joint inspection to analyze the cause and develop necessary repair measures.

부산역 승강장 곳곳에서 울퉁불퉁한 단차가 발생해 한국철도공사가 원인 파악에 나섰습니다.
승강장이 노후화되고 승객들이 많아지면서 연단에 뒤틀림이 발생한 것으로 추정하고 있습니다.
한국철도공사는 국가철도공단에 정밀안전진단을 요청하고 합동 점검에 따른 원인 분석과 보수 방안을 마련하기로 했습니다.

Busan City has welcomed the central government's decision to lift greenbelt restrictions on 15 sites across non-capital regions, an area 15 times the size of Yeouido, to facilitate regional strategic projects.
With this Cabinet decision, Busan will see the removal of greenbelt restrictions on approximately 17㎢, including sitesin Haeundae-gu District’s 53rd Division, the western side of Gimhae Airport in Gangseo-gu District, and the Songjeong-Hwajeon area.
This marks the first large-scale greenbelt removal in Busan in 17 years, following about 34㎢ release in 2008.
Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon stated, "This decision secures much-needed development-ready land, paving the way for fostering innovative industries and attracting new growth sectors.
It is a major step toward Busan’s transformation into a global hub city."
정부가 오늘 비수도권 지역 전략사업 15곳을 조성하기 위해 여의도 면적 15배 규모의 개발제한구역(그린벨트)을 해제하기로 한 데 대해 부산시가 환영의 입장을 밝혔습니다.

국무회의의 이번 발표로 부산에서는 해운대구 53사단, 강서구 김해공항 서측, 송정· 화전동 일원 등 약 500만평(약 17㎢)의 개발제한구역을 해제할 수 있게 됐습니다.
2008년 부산에서 개발제한구역 1천만평(약 34㎢)이 해제된 이후 17년 만입니다.
박형준 부산시장은 "부족했던 개발 가용부지를 확보해 혁신 산업 육성, 신성장 산업 유치 등 부산이 글로벌 허브 도시로 도약하는 계기가 마련됐다"고 말했습니다.

A Jin Air flight bound for Okinawa, Japan, returned to Gimhae International Airport this morning after a loud noise was heard from the engine during takeoff.
Due to landing weight restrictions, the aircraft circled over Geoje Island to burn off fuel before safely landing at Gimhae International Airport approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes after takeoff.
Passengers said they heard multiple explosion-like noises from the engine during takeoff.
A Jin Air representative stated, "A noise was detected from the engine during the takeoff phase.
Although no abnormalities were indicated on the instruments, the decision was made to return for safety reasons."

오늘 오전 김해국제공항에서 출발해 일본 오키나와로 향하던 진에어 여객기가 이륙당시 엔진 쪽에서 큰 소리가 나 이륙한지 1시간 20여분 만에 회항했습니다.
항공기는 착륙 무게 제한으로 거제도 상공을 돌며 연료를 소모한 후 김해국제공항에 착륙했습니다.
승객들은 "이륙 당시 엔진 쪽에서 여러 차례 폭발음이 들렸다고 말했습니다.
진에어 관계자는 "이륙 단계에서 엔진 쪽에서 소리가 감지됐으며 계기 상으로는 이상 없으나 안전을 위해 회항 조치했다"고 설명했다.
