They say Cambodia started a war in July
A lot of people might think that this is where it all started, but that's not the truth. It started since 28th May when one of our soldiers was shot dead by Thai military. There is a side between Cambodian and Thailand conflict you probably never heard. And I am not speaking as just I am Cambodian, I am speaking because I am a human being who believes in truth and peace. They say Cambodians started the war in July because we bombed Thailand. The first news that come from Thai, we bombed their country. As a human being, I understand the pain, the heartbreak, and anger. And if that news is the first news that you got from the conflict between us, it makes sense that you feel like we don't want to blame. But please listen from outside too, and let me tell you where it all started. This did not begin in July. It started on 28th May 2025, when a Cambodian soldier was shot and killed by Thai military out of nowhere. No warning, no battle, no conflict. But the world did not hear about that on the news. Imagine someone you love leaves for work and never come home. Not because of war, not because they did something wrong. They were killed unexpectedly. And we all, we were shocked. But you know what? We did not respond with the same violence. Do you know why? Because we want peace. That's all we want. Even we lose one of our soldier with no reason, we still remain calm. And that's why we went to ICJ, International Court of Justice. This is where we stand. It's in the beginning. We believe in peaceful solution, but Thailand refused. If you want to talk about who started first, then start from here. Start from 28th May. Why did you not talk about this? If you want to play fair, then start from here. Cambodia has suffered enough. From wars, from genocide, we are still building our country, again. We are still recovering from the past war. The genocide was just 50 years ago. That was not long. I hope that you understand that we are so desperately want peace. We would do anything just for the sake of peace. We are not here to fight. We do not want war. We do not want it again. As much as we want peace, we also want to protect our land and our people. We do not stay silent. And I hope you understand the reason that we don't stay silent. It is our right to protect the country and people.

មនុស្សជាច្រើនអាចនិយាយថា សង្រ្គាមនេះបានចាប់ផ្តើមនៅទីនេះ ប៉ុន្តែអ្វីដែលពិតមែនវិញ មិនមែនដូច្នោះទេ។ វាចាប់ផ្តើមតាំងពីថ្ងៃទី ២៨ ខែឧសភា ខណៈពេលដែលយោធាថៃបានបាញ់សម្លាប់យោធាខ្មែរម្នាក់។
មានមុខមាត់មួយនៃវិបត្តិរវាងកម្ពុជា និងថៃ ដែលអ្នកជាច្រើនមិនធ្លាប់បានលឺ។ ហើយខ្ញុំមិននិយាយបែបនេះគ្រាន់តែព្រោះខ្ញុំជាជនជាតិខ្មែរទេ ប៉ុន្តែព្រោះខ្ញុំជាមនុស្សម្នាក់ដែលជឿជាក់លើសេចក្ដីពិត និងសន្តិភាព។
គេនិយាយថា កម្ពុជាបានចាប់ផ្តើមសង្រ្គាមនៅខែកក្កដា ពីព្រោះយើងបានបំផ្ទុះគ្រាប់បែកលើថៃ។ ដំណឹងដំបូងដែលបានចេញ — ជាពិសេសពីភាគថៃ — គឺថា យើងបានវាយប្រហារជាប្រទេសដែលពួកគេ។ ក្នុងនាមជាមនុស្ស ខ្ញុំយល់អារម្មណ៍ឈឺចាប់ បែកបាក់ បង្ហោះខឹងនោះ។ បើដំណឹងនេះគឺជាអ្វីដំបូងដែលអ្នកបានលឺ អ្នកអាចគិតថាកម្ពុជាគឺជាអ្នកចាប់ផ្តើម។
ប៉ុន្តែសូមស្តាប់ផ្នែកទៀតផង។ ខ្ញុំចង់ប្រាប់អ្នកថា អ្វីៗបានចាប់ផ្តើមពីណា។
វាមិនមែនចាប់ផ្តើមនៅខែកក្កដានោះទេ។
វាចាប់ផ្តើមនៅថ្ងៃទី ២៨ ខែឧសភា ឆ្នាំ ២០២៥ នៅពេលដែលយោធាថៃបានបាញ់សម្លាប់យោធាខ្មែរម្នាក់ ដោយគ្មានអ្វីណាច្បាស់។ គ្មានការព្រមាន គ្មានការប៉ះទង្គិច។
ប៉ុន្តែពិភពលោកមិនបានឮអំពីរឿងនេះនៅក្នុងព័ត៌មានឡើយ។
សូមស្មានថា អ្នកស្រឡាញ់ម្នាក់ចាកចេញទៅធ្វើការ ប៉ុន្តែមិនដែលបានត្រលប់មកវិញ។ មិនមែនដោយសារសង្រ្គាម។ មិនមែនដោយសារតែគេបានធ្វើអ្វីខុសទេ។ តែពួកគេត្រូវបានសម្លាប់ដោយមិនបានរំពឹង។ យើងទាំងអស់គ្នាត្រូវបានឆក់ភ្ញាក់។
ប៉ុន្តែតើអ្នកដឹងទេ? យើងមិនបានឆ្លើយតបដោយអំពើហិង្សាទេ។
ហេតុអ្វី?
ព្រោះយើងចង់បានសន្តិភាព។ វាគឺជាអ្វីដែលយើងត្រូវការជាខ្លាំងបំផុត។
ទោះបីយើងបាត់បង់យោធាម្នាក់ដោយគ្មានហេតុផលយ៉ាងច្បាស់ យើងនៅតែថ្នាក់ស្ងប់ស្ងាត់។ ហើយហេតុអ្វីបានជាយើងទៅដល់តុលាការអន្តរជាតិ (ICJ) — តុលាការយុត្តិធម៌អន្តរជាតិ។ នេះជាចំណតដែលយើងបានឈរនៅដំបូង។
យើងជឿលើដំណោះស្រាយដោយសន្តិវិធី។ ប៉ុន្តែថៃបានបដិសេធ។
ដូច្នេះ បើអ្នកចង់និយាយពីរឿងនរណាជាអ្នកចាប់ផ្តើមសិន — សូមចាប់ផ្តើមពីទីនេះ។ ចាប់ផ្តើមពីថ្ងៃទី ២៨ ខែឧសភា។
ហេតុអ្វីបានជាគ្មាននរណានិយាយអំពីរឿងនេះ?

ខ្ញុំសង្ឃឹមថាអ្នកយល់ថា យើងពិតជាចង់បានសន្តិភាព។ យើងនឹងធ្វើអ្វីគ្រប់យ៉ាង ដើម្បីសន្តិភាព។ យើងមិនមកទីនេះដើម្បីចូលប្រយុទ្ធទេ។ យើងមិនចង់សង្រ្គាមឡើងវិញទេ។ យើងមិនចង់ឃើញវាឡើងវិញទេ។
ប៉ុន្តែ ទោះយើងចង់បានសន្តិភាពយ៉ាងណា យើងក៏ចង់ការពារដីធ្លី និងប្រជាជនរបស់យើងផងដែរ។ យើងមិនអាចស្ងៀមស្ងាត់បានទេ។ ហើយខ្ញុំសង្ឃឹមថាអ្នកយល់ពីមូលហេតុដែលយើងមិនស្ងៀមស្ងាត់ — ព្រោះវាជាសិទ្ធិរបស់យើងក្នុងការការពារប្រទេស និងប្រជាជនរបស់យើង។
