“Everything has its time.”😯😯
Found an old badger near the sett today, gone, but peaceful. I checked him over; no signs of struggle, just age. Sad as it is, it’s part of the balance in the woods. Not everything can be bright and storybook like The Animals of Farthing Wood or Wind in the Willows.
I took one of those deeper than usual breaths, the kind that reaches down to somewhere older inside you. Moved him gently to a quiet spot near some fallen logs, where he’ll fold back into the land, back into the soil, the roots, the cycle that carries us all in the end. It just meant something, that still moment, that small act of empathy in the hush of the trees.
Everything finds its way back in time, everything has its cycle.
