A Message from Srun and Sophea: To Our Beloved People
From Correctional Centre 1 and 3, Srun and Sophea, extend our heartfelt greetings and wish to address three crucial points to all our beloveds:
1. Support for the Cambodian Government and International Engagement: We urge you to continue showing your support for the Khmer government by sending encouraging messages. It's vital to persist in utilizing international mechanisms such as negotiation, diplomatic approaches, and collaboration with ASEAN nations. Furthermore, continue to file complaints with the International Court of Justice (ICJ). We have to trust in the international procedural system, exercise patience, and adhere to principles of mindfulness and wisdom. Remember the key components of effective communication: listening, thinking, asking, and writing. precepts, Mindfulness, wisdom, and the key components of effective learning, particularly in professional or academic contexts: listening, thinking, asking, and writing.
Please continue to send messages to the signatories of the Paris Peace Accords (PPAs) and international institutions. Referenced pages 270 to 274 of the Agreement Concerning the Sovereignty, Territorial Integrity and Inviolability, Neutrality and National Unity of Cambodia.
2. Support for Cambodian Soldiers: Let us continue to support our brave Cambodian soldiers by protecting and caring for their families – their wives, children, and parents – ensuring their livelihoods and access to education. Encourage our soldiers and actively participate in promoting international law alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia. This collective effort is crucial for maintaining national security and safety.
3. Strengthening the Family Economy and Active Citizenship: Strengthen your family economy through initiatives like "one-house-one-garden" and by fostering village/commune trade. Educate yourselves on human rights and become active citizens in the diplomatic sphere.
Let us always remember that our nation's journey requires both citizens and officials to move forward together, as two indispensable legs. The Paris Peace Agreement of October 23, 1991, stands as the definitive blueprint for security and peace in Cambodia, the wider region, and the international community.
