클레오파트라 곤스는 합성 헤어 익스텐션 위에 제작한 작업을 통해 이러한 변화를 탐구한다. 회화, 이미지 전사, 믹스드 미디어 기법을 결합해 얼굴과 파편화된 인물, 겹겹의 텍스처가 머리카락 사이로 드러나며, 어딘가 익숙하면서도 동시에 불편한 감각을 만들어낸다. 인위적으로 생산된 뷰티 소재와 감정이 담긴 마크 메이킹 사이의 긴장은 헤어를 정체성, 여성성, 그리고 우리가 스스로를 구성하기 위해 사용하는 오브제에 대한 보다 넓은 범위의 이야기를 하고 있다.

Cléopatra Gones explores this shift through works created on synthetic hair extensions. Combining painting, image transfer, and mixed-media techniques, faces, fragmented figures, and layered textures emerge between the strands, producing sensations that feel both familiar and subtly unsettling. The tension between industrially manufactured beauty materials and emotionally charged mark-making turns hair into a site of inquiry—one that opens broader conversations around identity, femininity, and the objects we use to construct ourselves.
