Earlier this week I visited for an anti-aging procedure. I’m always a little nervous when I visit a new clinic because I can’t speak Korean very well. Luckily for me, there was an English translator who greeted me warmly and translated my consultation with the doctor.

I decided on a Shurink treatment since I’d heard so many good things about it from friends. It is a non-invasive treatment done using an ultrasound device. The treatment lifts and tightens the skin whilst stimulating collagen and elastin production. As you can see, a numbing cream was applied first and then a cooling face mask with LED light therapy (this part was very relaxing).

If you scroll right to the end you can see a selfie I took before the procedure. I also took some photos of the procedure itself and the clinic. My skin is very sensitive so you can see it went quite red after the treatment and that lasted about an hour. There was some slight swelling over the next few days but no pain. I will keep you updated of the results over the next month or so.

I had a really great experience with and I already discussed returning for additional non-invasive treatments. The clinic is very foreigner friendly and is only a 2 minute walk from Sinsa Station.

“Every moment happens twice: inside and outside, and they are two different histories.” Zadie Smith 📚

Today was the last day of “real” school for my first graders. Honestly, it was such a bittersweet moment saying goodbye to them. Watching them all grow, despite it being such a difficult year, has been so rewarding. I am so proud of how much they’ve accomplished! ✨

This (academic) year was the year I decided I was going to evolve from ‘teacher in Korea’ to ‘a real teacher’. And so, I’m currently juggling FT work and studying which is...challenging, to say the least! I am grateful for those in my peer group that encouraged me to pursue this path. 💕

I won’t post photos of my students on social media but I absolutely adore this mural (the boy on the right). I think I first saw it back in 2017 and I was instantly captivated. Teaching is a stepping stone in my life which is a privilege to stand on and I have learned so much about myself over the past 4 years. 🌱

I hope that all the fellow educators out there are going to spend the break relaxing before we commence another year. 🍎

Good morning Seoul 🇰🇷

I was hoping to get out this weekend and shoot some Christmas content but two things happened. (1) I was so burnt out I was basically a zombie all weekend. (2) Seoul restrictions have increased and we are now at Level 2.5.

I hate to say it but we are undergoing the third wave in Korea with more cases than the first and second combined. Let’s all just stay safe and push through December.
