On July 24–25, 2025, Thailand launched a military assault on Cambodian territory near Prasat Ta Muen Thom and Preah Vihear, firing rockets and dropping bombs from fighter jets in what Cambodia calls a deliberate and illegal act of aggression.

ILLEGAL WEAPONS USED
Independent reports and Cambodian authorities confirm Thailand used:
β€’ F-16 airstrikes to bomb military sites near ancient temples
β€’ Heavy artillery and rockets, including those that struck close to a pagoda
β€’ Alleged use of cluster munitions – banned under international law by more than 100 countries due to their high risk to civilians

These are not just weapons of war β€” they are weapons of terror, used near sacred heritage sites, in villages, and in civilian areas.

HUMAN TOLL & DAMAGE TO SACRED SITES
β€’ At least 16 people killed, including children and civilians
β€’ Over 100,000 Cambodians displaced from their homes
β€’ Pagodas and temple surroundings shaken by blasts
β€’ Roads to sacred areas bombed and blocked
β€’ Entire families forced to flee, temples desecrated by conflict

Cambodia did not start this war. Our military responded in self-defense after Thai forces fired first near Khmer heritage land. And yet, Thailand is twisting the narrative β€” pretending to be the victim while causing the destruction.

Meanwhile, Thailand:
β€’ Expelled Cambodia’s ambassador and shut down diplomacy
β€’ Warned Thai citizens in Cambodia to leave β€” falsely suggesting Cambodians pose a threat
β€’ Is trying to manipulate public opinion, both locally and globally

This is not just a border clash. This is a violation of international law, a disrespect to culture, and a deliberate attack on peace.

Cambodia wants peace β€” not war.
We call on the international community and the UN to investigate these illegal actions, stop the lies, and protect the sacredness of our people, our land, and our temples.
