[Upcoming Event]

올해로 10주년을 맞이한 샌프란시스코 아트북 페어에 닻프레스가 참가합니다! 다가오는 7월 23일부터 26일까지 Minnesota Street Project Foundation이 주최하는 샌프란시스코 아트북페어는 독립 출판과 프린트 컬처를 대표하는 국제 아트북 페어로, 전 세계의 독립 출판사와 예술가, 디자이너, 컬렉터들이 한자리에 모여 다채로운 예술 출판을 소개하고 교류하는 자리입니다. 지난해에는 약 3만 5천 명의 관람객이 방문하며 역대 최다 관람객을 기록하기도 했습니다. 

닻프레스는 이번 페어에서 신간 『in the midday silver』 를 처음 선보일 예정이며, 그 외 18종의 출판물을 함께 소개합니다.

We’re excited to be returning to the 10th anniversary of the San Francisco Art Book Fair this July! Presented by the Minnesota Street Project Foundation, SFABF brings together independent publishers, artists, designers, and collectors from around the world to celebrate the diversity of art publishing and print culture. Last year‘s fair welcomed a record-breaking 35,000 visitors, and we’re delighted to be part of this special anniversary edition.

At this year‘s fair, Datz Press will present “in the midday silver” for the first time in the U.S., alongside 18 other publications. We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco!

현재 2026 뮐루즈 사진 비엔날레의 주제 전시 《Sédimentation(s) - une constellation》에서 선보이고 있는 주상연 작가의 작업들은 사진집 『다른 방식의 존재 연습』에 수록된 작품들입니다. 전시된 사진들은 한 권의 책을 통해 더욱 가까이 만나보실 수 있습니다.

『다른 방식의 존재 연습』은 시력을 잃을 뻔한 경험 이후, 새롭게 변모한 작가의 바라봄의 방식과 존재에 대한 사유를 담아낸 사진집입니다.

“이 책에는 지난 10여 년 동안 내가 본 안과 밖의 풍경이 담겨 있다. 마치 나선형 계단을 오르는 것처럼, 한 번도 같지 않으나 반복되는 것들이 있었다. 사진가로서 오르던 한 기둥에서 내려와 다양한 역할을 오가며, 내게 익숙했던 것들이 다른 관점에서 새롭게 열리는 것을 보았다. 존재의 모습은 다양하고 한 사람의 삶은 고유한 이야기가 된다. 어떤 중요한 가치가 깨어지면 다른 가능성이 태어나고, 모든 과정의 의미는 스스로 발견하고 만들어 가는 것이라고 믿는다.” _주상연

The works currently on view in Sédimentation(s) - une constellation, the thematic exhibition of the 2026 Mulhouse Photography Biennale, are featured in Sangyon Joo’s photobook ”Other Ways of Being.“ The photographs presented in the exhibition can be experienced more intimately through the book.

”Other Ways of Being“ is a photobook that reflects on new ways of seeing and on questions of existence that emerged after Sangyon Joo’s experience of nearly losing her eyesight.

“This book contains scenes from the past ten years, both from my internal and external world. As ascending spiral staircase, the views are never the same yet retain a certain repetitiveness. Descending from my pillar as a photographer and transitioning between various roles, I experienced new perspectives unfolding for things that were once familiar. There are diverse ways of being and one‘s life reveals a unique story. When an important value breaks, a new possibility is born. I believe the process is the means to discover and create by oneself.” _Sangyon Joo

지난 일요일, 뮐루즈 미술관에서 닻프레스 대표 주상연 작가의 북토크가 진행되었습니다. “The Vision Behind Datz Press and Datz Museum”이라는 주제로 진행된 이번 북토크에서는 닻프레스의 철학과 지난 행보, 그리고 지금까지 출판된 다양한 사진집과 아트북을 소개하며, 뮐루즈 비엔날레를 찾은 관람객들에게 닻프레스를 소개하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌습니다. 참석해 주신 모든 분들께 감사의 말씀 전합니다.

현재 2026 뮐루즈 사진 비엔날레의 주제 전시 《Sédimentation(s) - une constellation》에서는 주상연 작가의 『다른 방식의 존재 연습』에 수록된 작품을 전시하고 있습니다. 이번 전시는 9월 20일까지 진행되오니, 현지에 계신 분들의 많은 관심과 방문 바랍니다.

Last Sunday, a book talk by Sangyon Joo, director of Datz Press, was held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Mulhouse. Under the theme “The Vision Behind Datz Press and Datz Museum,” the event offered an in-depth presentation of Datz Press’s philosophy, its journey to date, and a wide range of photobooks and art books published over the years, providing visitors to the Mulhouse Biennial with a meaningful introduction to Datz Press. We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who attended.

At the 2026 Mulhouse Photo Biennial, works from Sangyon Joo’s “Other Ways of Being” are currently on view. The exhibition runs until September 20, and we warmly invite local visitors to take part and experience it.

살 테일러 키드 작가의 『in the midday silver』 프리오더가 오늘부터 시작됩니다. 이 책은 2024년 봄, 작가가 아버지와 형제를 잇달아 잃은 이후 이탈리아 레지던시에서 이어간 작업으로 구성되었습니다. 상실의 시간을 지나며 작가는 글쓰기와 사진 작업에 몰두했고, 이를 통해 다시 세계와 연결되어 가는 과정을 담아냈습니다. 시와 사진이 교차하며 이어지는 구성 속에서, 독자는 상실 이후의 시간을 통과하는 깊은 내면의 여정을 따라가게 됩니다.

300부 한정으로 수제작되었으며, 각 권에는 작가의 오리지널 프린트 한 점이 포함되어 있습니다.

[New Book]

Pre-orders for Sal Taylor Kydd’s upcoming publication, “in the midday silver”, begin today. The book is based on work developed during a residency in Italy in 2024, following the loss of the artist’s father and brother within a short span of time. Moving through this period, the artist immersed herself in writing and photography, tracing a process of reconnecting with the world through making. Structured as a sequence in which poems and photographs alternate, the publication follows an intimate journey through grief, reflection, and recovery.

Limited to 300 hand-bound copies, each book includes an original print by the artist.
