📺Transport to Another World

This is a new Gallery opened at MMCA Seoul. I was really impressed by if because of its uniqueness.

Unlike conventional films, where an audience contemplatively observes characters on a screen from a distance, Transport to Another Worldis comprised of titles that employ various media to invite viewers to immerse themselves in the lives of people in a different time and place.

This exhibition was co-organized by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) and the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) to celebrate the 2024-2025 Korea-Canada Year of Cultural Exchanges, and it features films from eight directors (and crews) hailing from both countries.

Welcome Daehakro is a festival devoted to celebrating various types of performances including non-verbal, traditional, musical, plays, and more. Started in 2017, the festival attracts visitors from around the world every fall.

We went and saw this amazing musical play that reminded me of my own country Romania.

🧛‍♂️ Vamp X Hunter(뱀프 X 헌터)

The story centers on a clash between vampires, who want to turn the world into a realm of blood, and hunters, who are determined to save it.

It’s more of a “heroic comic romantic suspense inspirational blockbuster”―which roughly translates to a show that will make you laugh out loud.

Four characters―Lyu Jin, a sharpshooter trying to overcome a slump; Jun Hong, a vampire recently turned after being bitten; Heon S*k, an exorcist seeking revenge for his master; and Saint Germain, a red-eyed vampire searching for a new body.

The actors' ad-libs and casual comedy elements blend seamlessly with the intimate feel of a small theater musical.

This was a new experience for me and a great way to see another cultural aspect of Korea. Totally recommend it!

🍂🍁 Autumn vibes in Seoul! 🍁🍂

Spent the day at BaramSan Observatory Park, soaking in the beautiful fall colors.

🍃🌞 Enjoyed a cozy picnic with a view of the city and surrounded by the breathtaking orange and red leaves.

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape in Seoul, this is the spot! 🧺✨

🏫 The Sinchon area in Seoul is a prominent landmark representing the university district. It’s centered around Sinchon Station and is home to major universities like Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Sogang University.

🌃 There’s a hill in Sinchon named “Baramsan,” and a park with an observatory was established here for visitors to enjoy the scenery.

💎 Unless you deliberately seek it out in the Sinchon area, it’s a hidden gem where you can overlook the scenery of Sinchon at a glance. It’s a great spot for enjoying sunsets, night views, and more.

🏞Dumesongha Village

Dumaesongha Village is a beautiful place boasting a clean natural environment. Maebongsan Mountain, which has a beautiful forest of pine trees and various broad-leaved trees, the nearby Tougubong Peak, and the clear and clean Songha Valley surrounding the village attract guests.

In addition to rare animals such as eagle owls, otters, mountain goats, deer, evening primrose colonies, and reed fields, Songha Valley is also home to loach and shiri, and you can observe a variety of freshwater fish and taste a variety of dishes using the clean valley water.

The village has Haedalmoe Learning Experience Center, where you can try out a variety of experiential programs.

Andong Mask Dance Festival takes place in Andong, home of the UNESCO World Heritage-designated Andong Hahoe Village.

The festival includes various cultural performances including Korea's mask dance drama, an intangible cultural heritage, and mask dance performances from around the world.

In addition to watching performances, visitors can also participate in a variety of hands-on experience programs to learn more about the dances, masks, and related culture.

Yeongyang is a typical mountain village. It has a very nice, quiet atmosphere. Gyeongbuk Yeongyang, famous for its specialty red pepper, is a mountainous region bordering Gangwon-do.

I want to introduce the Yeongyang Mountain Village Life Museum as a place worth visiting.

The museum exhibits the unique old mountain village culture and lifestyle of Yeongyang in an indoor exhibition hall and an outdoor traditional lifestyle experience center based on various types of exhibit materials.

The traditional living experience center in front of the main building of the museum displays houses that are reminiscent of old mountain villages, such as gulpi houses, tubang houses, and neowa houses, as well as farming practices, which are expressed in great detail. It is easy to see and understand the differences between the way we live now and the lifestyles of old mountain villages, so it is a great place to visit.

How to MMCA!

MMCA Seoul is located next to 경복궁 (Gyeongbuk Palace), a walking distance from Insadong in the middle of Seoul.

Really accessible is an amazing art museum with cheap prices and great galleries.

National Museum of Contemporary Art (MMCA) has four branches located in Gwacheon, Deoksugung, Seoul, and Cheongju.

Today we will talk about the MMCA location in Seoul.

This distinguishes itself from other museums by utilizing the traditional Korean architectural concept of "madang," which is a large courtyard where people meet to mingle.

The building's exterior blends in beautifully with the surroundings.

The museum has a lot of features inside, such as a multipurpose hall, project gallery theater, and research center.

Inside the museum there is also an Art Book shop and Art Shop Seoul (MMCA Shop). As well as 2 coffee shops and 1 Korean traditional restaurant (Tea House Osulloc, Terarosa Coffee shop, Doore).

You should totally try this museum if you come to Seoul! Is a must visit destination!
