NEW RELEASE! MOIM: GALPI
MoIM is a free improvisation music collective founded in 2024 by Jiyun Song and Taekjoon Kim. Through monthly gatherings, it seeks to reconnect with the raw, exploratory spirit of improvisation and foster active musical exchange among performers. Galpi, meaning “mark” in Korean, ceremoniously articulates the first chapter of MoIM.
Recorded at Haegal Music Studio are works of improvisers coming from a wide range of backgrounds—from gugak to DIY electronics to contact improvisation. [Galpi] documents one of MoIM’s core values—an active and full immersion in the present over predefined context or identity. The sounds, sensations, and collaborations are bared plainly here, inviting you to witness their immediacy.
