there are a few korean kimchi brands in malaysia!
I got halmae kimchi from ko mart in 1 mont kiara.
tastes just like the kimchi back in korea, so good!😙

mine was fresh kimchi
and it wasn‘t sour enough for cooking
so I added vinegar. try it if yours is too fresh!

I‘ve been packing lunch for hubby lately
eating out in KL is affordable
but we were both gaining weight ㅠㅠㅋㅋ
so now it’s brown rice and homemade curry!

got the beef curry roux from shojikiya
it‘s spicy and so good!😋

I buy whatever I can from local marts.
things like buldak are actually cheaper there!

korean products I can’t find locally?
that‘s when I go to the korean mart.

got the mandu on sale at NH mart in mont kiara.
they were gunmandu (meant to be fried)
but I steamed them... big mistake 🥲

honest reviews from my genting trip 🍜

📍Restoran Sin Kie
kangkung & crab meat soup was good
but the sweet & sour meat was mostly veg
genting price tho 😮‍💨

📍Shawawow
crispy chicken (rm27) was actually nice
loved the extra garlic sauce, just wish it wasn‘t so watery. would have again!

📍Din Tai Fung @ Sky avenue 
the sesame & peanut wonton was ok.
but the braised beef noodle soup was so disappointing, super watery broth, had to ask for salt.
not worth rm43!

i don’t look up popular spots. i just pick random places based on what i‘m craving. this trip was a bit of a letdown food-wise though.

my korean friend visited after a few years.
she used to live here so no tourist spots, just places I actually go to 😉

📍super kitchen chilli pan mee
my usual. lots of branches around KL so just find the nearest one 🍜

📍kenny hills cafe @̲163 mall
get the garlic bagel. you’re welcome 🥯

📍thursday bazaar @̲plaza mont kiara
day market, opens on thursdays.
food, fruits, arts & craft. also spotted 두쫀쿠 dubai chewy cookie that blew up in korea!

📍the grocer’s kitchen @̲IPC mall
they do evening sales on ready to eat food and you can order from the kitchen too.
oddly satisfying to just sit and eat there 🛒
