✨ 5 Things to do in Suwon this Chuseok ✨
Chuseok, one of Korea‘s biggest holidays, kind of like Thanksgiving, is just around the corner!🍂 If you’re looking for a mix of traditional and modern fun, here’s what I recommend:
1️⃣ Haengnidan Street
Make your own keychain
💰₩4,500 - 15,000 depending on what you make
Get a caricature🎨
💰Paper ₩14,000, Canvas ₩19,000 for 2 people
Fish photo booth 🐟
💰2 prints ₩6,000
Tip: just wait for the fish to swim into the frame and snap with a remote!
Try a claw machine
💰 ₩1,000 per play
2️⃣ Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival until Sep 4
with stamp missions & fun interactive programs 🎉
Hwaseong Haenggung is huge, but wherever you go, you’ll feel the festive vibes.
The Media Art Festival is also running until Sep 12.
3️⃣ Yummy food
Traditional Chuseok food is amazing, but if you’re missing some Western flavor, try the Philly cheesesteak sandwich here.
💰Double cheese Philly sandwich ₩11,000
You’ll also find plenty of cozy dessert shops for gelato & sweets 🍨
4️⃣ Palace Night visit
📍Hwaseong Haenggung, 825 Jeongjo-ro, Paldal-gu
May 3-Nov 2, Fri-Sun & public holidays
Be sure to visit Hwahongmun Gate, Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion, Janganmun Gate, and the Hwaseong Fortress Wall trail.
5️⃣ Photo time
Suwon is full of photo spots! I recommend taking photos at the fortress trail, which is a famous K-drama filming location, and the traditional pavilions🌙
I love Suwon because it’s not as crowded as Seoul, but it’s only 1hour away. Perfect for a small getaway. Hope you make some great Chuseok memories here! 💛
