✈🇰🇼 Kuwait Announces Major Changes to Tourist & Family Visit Visas
The Ministry of Interior has unveiled significant updates to its visa regulations, making it easier for expatriates to reunite with their families and for visitors to explore Kuwait.
📌 Key Changes to Family Visit Visas:
No more minimum salary cap: Expatriates can now apply to bring their family members to Kuwait without meeting a fixed income requirement.
Wider eligibility: Applications can now be made for relatives up to the 4th degree of kinship and the 3rd degree by marriage, in addition to spouses and children.
Simplified travel: Visitors are no longer required to arrive via Kuwait’s national carrier.
📌 Tourist Visa Updates:
Tourist visas are now available to all nationalities, provided they meet the set conditions.
Lists of approved countries and eligible professions will be reviewed periodically in line with global indicators.
The aim is to attract more visitors to experience Kuwait’s culture, heritage, and modern attractions.
📌 Digital Transformation:
The entire visa application process has gone fully online through the newly launched “Kuwait Visa” platform, developed in cooperation with the General Administration of Information Systems.
This platform streamlines applications, making the process faster, more transparent, and more accessible for both residents and tourists.
🗣 Colonel Abdulaziz Al-Kandari from the Ministry’s Residency Affairs Sector explained that these changes are part of Kuwait’s strategy to enhance tourism, boost economic activity, and make family reunification easier for the expatriate community.
💡 These reforms reflect Kuwait’s commitment to becoming a welcoming destination for visitors while supporting its diverse expatriate population.
