Kuwait introduces 50,000 dinar license for national celebrations

Khalifa Al-Ajeel, Minister of Commerce and Industry, issued a ministerial decision permitting the issuance of exclusive and comprehensive licenses to companies and institutions approved by the relevant authorities to organize major national events and celebrations, with a fee of 50,000 dinars and license duration of up to three months, according to Q8-Press.
The Ministerial Decision No. 227 of 2024, amending Decision No. 27 of 2015, added a new Article 40 to Decision (27/2015) regarding the Executive Regulation of Law No. 39 of 2014 on Consumer Protection. The new article reads as follows:
Subject to the provisions of Law No. 2 of 1995 and in exception to the provisions of this chapter, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry may issue a decision to grant exclusive and comprehensive licenses to companies or institutions approved by the competent official authorities to organize major national events and celebrations.
This decision shall be issued upon a request submitted by the official authority and the approved company organizing the event, in exchange for a fixed fee of 50,000 dinars per license, with the license duration not exceeding three months.
The decision shall also include the conditions and regulations that the organizing entity must follow to ensure the optimal ex*****on of tasks. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry reserves the right to withdraw the approval at any time without providing reasons.
