It has come to our attention that Mr. Patrick Sovie current SLPP Chairman in Kuwait, is allegedly positioning himself to become Sierra Leone’s next Ambassador to Kuwait.

In pursuit of this, he is reportedly injecting politics into a peaceful and diverse community — a move that is causing division, tension, and mistrust among Sierra Leoneans living in Kuwait.

Let it be known loud and clear:
Kuwait already has an Ambassador representing Sierra Leone.
Our focus as a community should be on unity, development, and support for one another — not on political agendas or personal ambitions.

We will not allow political influence to destroy the peace and structure of our community. The Sierra Leone community in Kuwait is made up of people from all walks of life and political backgrounds — no one group should hijack the space for their own gain.

This is a community, not a political base.
This is a call to action for every conscious Sierra Leonean: Let us protect our space from political manipulation.

STOP POLITICIZING OUR COMMUNITY

What happened yesterday in Kuwait should be a WAKE-UP CALL. The birthday celebration of SLPP Chairman Patrick Sovie has once again exposed a dangerous trend in our Sierra Leonean community — the infiltration of politics into every corner of our social space.

Let’s be clear: This community does not belong to SLPP, APC, or ANY political party. It belongs to every Sierra Leonean living and striving here in Kuwait — regardless of political background.

Why must every gathering be a political statement? Why are some community events becoming platforms to show party colors, rather than build unity?

We’ve watched silently for too long. But silence is no longer an option.

We will not allow political interest to destroy the very foundation of the Sierra Leonean community in Kuwait. This is a call to all leaders, influencers, and well-meaning citizens:

Take your politics out of our community affairs. We are Sierra Leoneans first.

We want peace. We want unity. We want progress. And we will speak LOUDER until that is respected.
