Citizen Arrested With 83 Kg Of "Kratom" ..

The General Dept. of Anti-Drug trafficking arrested a Citizen in possession of 83 Kg of “Kratom”, the MOI criminalized the “Kratom” last week & added it to a law related to combating drugs & regulating their use & trafficking because it contains opium-like properties, the MOI confirmed also that anyone who abuses, smuggles, brings, or possesses kratom is subject to the law, Kratom could cause respiratory failure, epileptic seizures, psychosis, high heart rate & blood pressure, liver poisoning, nausea & sudden death due to high-level poisoning.

Patches were released Thursday and Wednesday by the tech titan to fix what it described as a vulnerability hackers already knew about and may be taking advantage of.
The technical description indicated that a hacker could use the flaw to take control of devices, accessing any of its data or capabilities.
Patches were released for iPhones, iPads and Mac computers running on operating systems with the vulnerability.

In the Philippines parliament discussion began to ban sending Filipino domestic workers who practiced a sponsorship system which was a clear reference to Kuwait and other Middle East countries.

Senate Minority Leader, Aquilino Martin de la Llana Pimentel III put forward a proposal in parliament during open session. Parliamentarian Ravi Tolvo reviewed the report on alleged abuse of Filipino maids abroad. In the context of the report, Tolvo presented a video in which Filipino domestic workers working in Kuwait and other Gulf countries appeared crying out and explaining their suffering due to harassment, physical and psychological abuse, and not giving them their regular wages.

Parliamentary debates heated up after Senator Pimentel angrily asked “Now, after seeing this report, should we decide in the future to ban sending our domestic workers to certain other countries, especially those that practice the sponsorship system? Every mistake and every unfortunate incident of abuse leads to the destruction of the life of a Filipino.”

Number of Senators quickly supported Pimentels proposal. Senator Tolvo recommended that the procedures should begin with a strict policy on violations of Philippine agencies specialized in the deportation and employment of immigrant workers. “Once an agency has been found guilty of abuse, it should be disregarded immediately,” he added. I will work to ensure that the owners of these agencies do not ever conduct business even in new names.”

Ministers called up to intensify coordination and cooperation efforts with the governments of “sponsorship countries” in order to provide greater protection for Filipino domestic workers. Senator Alan Peter Cayetano said that “the performance of members of the Philippine diplomatic missions operating in those countries should also be monitored.

recorded a 12.5 percent ($12 million) decline in the value of projects awarded in July 2022, as the value of total project awarded reached $84 million in the month. In June, projects worth $96 million were awarded, according to a report published by Projects.

The report showed that Kuwait ranked fourth in GCC and sixth regionally in the list of signed project awards, while Qatar recorded the highest amount in July with $1.1 billion, followed by Saudi Arabia with $934 million. The UAE closed the top three rankings in the awarding of contracts in July, with deals worth $819 million signed.

Speaking to Kuwait Times, Maitham Al-Shakhs, an independent economic researcher, analyzed the reasons behind the decline in Kuwait’s project awards and its possible implications on the state economy. He pointed out the main reason for this decline is related to the political situation and disputes in the National Assembly.
