Statement By Jerrin Reynolds-Velasquez About The 2025 General Election: Fellow Caymanians and residents,
This is Jerrin Reynolds-Velasquez, the current Speaker of Youth Parliament, 2029 candidate for the constituency of West Bay North and a Patriotic Caymanian.
As the 2025 General Election is near, I would like to leave you all with some encouraging advice for this election season. This election is extremely critical because the Cayman Islands is at a crossroads and we need to save our country. When you are planning to support a candidate in your constituency or around the island, please be sure to do your research on them to see how they can benefit our islands in a positive way. Be sure to listen to their ideas and observe their character to see if they are capable of being professional and proactive. As it has been said many times, elections have consequences and indeed it is true. Even though, I am not eligible to vote in this election, I will be supporting candidates if they have the best interests of our people and not for their personal benefits. It is time for positive change! Let’s move forward by saving the future of your children, grandchildren, family members, friends, yourselves and all Caymanians. I will end with an inspirational quote by the late Martin Luther King Jr.
