Our Story

Light FM is Beirut’s Feel Good radio station. In 1989, we started as an amateur radio station, broadcasting from a basement, and known only by our frequency, 88.3FM. Throughout the years, more and more listeners started tuning in to forget their everyday stress, using the simplest and strongest of tools: Good Music.

Today, as one of the leading radio stations in Lebanon, we are still driven by the same passion for music, and help quality brands deliver their messages to a quality audience, with a reach expanding beyond the FM bandwidth through a strong digital presence in social media and on mobile devices.

What is Light music?

Basically, it’s music that can be listened to continuously, anyplace and anytime: work, home, study, drive, or just while you relax. It crosses all genres, from jazz, blues, rock, pop, and folk to R&B, lounge, funk soul, latin, or house even. We play classic artists like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Elton John, or Sade, mixed with today’s chart-toppers such as Rihanna, Maroon 5, Coldplay, or Adele. Plus, we constantly strive to discover new international and local artists, to always bring freshness to our listeners. Our vast database gives our listeners a variety of all time hits as well as new cool tunes around the clock, but most of all their light favorites back to back.

At Light FM, we try to follow what you are doing and give you the right music and entertainment. We accompany you on your way to work and back, then we start your evening with a journey of music discovery, brought to you by our expert DJs, and end your day with smooth, soothing classics.

La Bonne Humeur: (Weekdays 7-10 am)

Hosted by French broadcaster Tanguy Faucon since 1999. It’s the #1 live morning show on foreign speaking radio stations in Lebanon. Once you turn us on, you’ll be in good spirit with our positive music and ‘Good news’, and games with the chance to win great prizes from our sponsors. The show also features special interventions by guest speakers and numerous interviews with local and international stars; all to start your day on a positive note.

Smooth Jazz: (Mondays & Wednesdays 8-9pm)

Produced by GM, this musical show is one of a kind in Lebanon, where you will listen to the most sublime mix of Smooth Jazz tunes. For one hour you'll find it very difficult to tear yourself away. No talk and perfect music will soothe away the troubles of the day.

Soul Sessions: (Tuesdays 8-9pm)

Every Tuesday, Romax takes you on a trip through the capitals of Soul. From London to New Orleans, passing through New York, Philly, and Detroit. One hour of the funkiest, feel good Soul, nothing but real good music.

La Hora Latina: (Thursdays 8-9pm)

Produced by Elias, one hour of the best hits from the Latin World. From rumba to salsa, to bolero, flamenco, reggaeton and much more, to light up your night.

Undercover: (Fridays 8-9pm)

Undercover brings you the biggest hits of the past decades and today’s chart-toppers, deconstructed and put back together into covers or remixes, with a taste of funk, electro, jazz, and lounge. All songs are hand-picked by GM, to start your weekend the Light way.

The Weekender: (Fridays 9-10pm)

We loved Romax so much in Soul Sessions that we gave him a second hour on our airwaves. While staying in the same universe of Soul music, this hour is slightly more upbeat to fit Friday nights, and explores funky Disco beats and classy Electro tunes.
