Debbie has more than 20 years experience of working with Newborn and very young babies, her relationship with babies is almost magical, our clients call her the baby whisperer.

Youāll Probably Have Lots Of Questionsā¦
Here are the most common questions we are asked by new parents and parents to beā¦
# When should I book my baby photographer?
If you are booking a newborn photo shoot some of our clients like to book in early in their pregnancy and in that situation we book you in, just as soon as you are happy to do so, for a provisional date around 5 ā 10 days after your due date however babies very rarely arrive on their due date so we always keep a selection of standby appointments available every week so that if the wee one arrives early or late we just move your photoshoot to one of those.
You donāt need to book in as soon as you find out you are pregnant!
If your baby is already here, or you are due soon, or if you are looking to book a photo shoot for an older baby thatās not a problemā¦
We always keep standby appointments available for parents who donāt want to or didnāt think to book in advance so just give us a call and we will almost always be able to get you booked in within a week or so.
# What is the best age for my babyās photo shoot?
Please donāt get too hung up on āthe best ageā
Any age is good for a baby photo shoot!
For newborn photography, If you like the tiny curled up sleepy shots, we should do those in the first 2 weeks, usually between 5 ā 10 days.
The 14 day recommendation, ideally between 5 & 10 days, is because this is when the wee one is most sleepy, still very flexible, and happy to be moulded into all of those cute curled up sleepy shots that everyone loves.
You may prefer your wee one to be a little older and more awake and to see their big eyes open, we will do them a little later, maybe 3-6 weeks.
We have had some babies at this 3 ā 6 week stage who have curled up and slept like little newborns and we can still use most of the newborn props as well!

After around 6 weeks the best time for a baby photo shoot is about 12 ā 16 weeks when they can lie on their tummy and hold their head up unsupported.
We are usually guaranteed big smiles at this stage as well.
The next stage is when they can sit up unattended, usually around 6 ā 9 months. They are developing their own wee personalities now, these sessions are usually filled with laughs and giggles.

# What if my baby arrives early or is late, or if I donāt feel up to it when my baby is born?
We always keep a selection of appointments free every week, babies donāt usually arrive on time so if your wee one is early, late or if you just donāt feel up to it, having just given birth, thatās no problem at all we will just move your photo shoot to one of our standby appointments and this in turn frees up a session for any last minute babies who may come along š
# I am a bit concerned about someone else handling my baby!

Your babyās safety, wellbeing and comfort are our main concern, at all timesā¦
Debbie has many years experience of working with and caring for very young babies, she is fully trained in every aspect of baby safety.

We are very much baby led in our approach and we will NEVER put your baby in a pose, prop or situation that will compromise their safety or wellbeing.
Your wee one will never be out of your sight and will only ever be a few feet away from you š
# How long will it take? Iāve heard some photographers say up to 6 hours!
Our experience has shown that around 2 hours is the perfect amount of time for a Newborn photo shoot, any longer and babies get very fed up and restless (so do the parents)
This allows us plenty of opportunity to shoot lots of different images and plenty of time for feeding and changing if needed.
We only ever have 2 Newborn shoots a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, this leaves us plenty of time if the photo shoot does need to run over, thatās not very often but we will never rush you.
For older babies the session is usually around an hour.
Older babies are much more likely to interact and have fun but their attention span is not very long š¶š» š¤£
# What if my baby cries all the time and you canāt get any photos?
Debbieās affinity with babies is almost magical and very rarely, maybe once every 2-3 years do we have a wee one who just wonāt settle.
Debbie will usually recognise early in the session if the wee one is troubled by something and isnāt likely to settle and rather than have it become an unpleasant ordeal for your baby we will stop and re book you into one of our standby sessions later that week or early the next but this really is a very rare occurrence.
# When will I see my photos after the photo shoot?
If you choose our Digital Only Option around 7 ā 10 days after your photo shoot we will upload all of your photos to a private online web gallery where you will be able to download them directly to your computer, tablet or phone.
No choices to be made, you receive all of the digital files from the photo shoot š
If you choose our Ć La Carte Option we will make an appointment for you to come back to the studio around 7 ā 10 days later when youāll see all of your photos on our large screen and will be able to choose from our range of products and packages what you would like to buy.
# How much does it cost?
We can email you a full price list if you would like one, just complete the form HERE and we will email one straight to you.
# Will I spend more than I have budgeted for when I see the photos? I know Iāll want them all!
You will be in complete control of how much you spend at all times!
Youāll have a copy of our full price list before you even decide to book a photo shoot shoot with us.
Our price list has all of our options from just one photo to having all of them, either as prints or as digital files, as well as lotās of other options such as wall art, coffee table albums and several packages offering huge savings.
No hidden costs or nasty surprises.
There will neve be any pressure from us to buy more than you have budgeted for, you will be in control of what you would like to have at all times.
And if you choose our digital collection you wonāt even have to come back to the studio to make any choicesā¦
You will receive all of the digital files, downloadable from your own private web gallery on our website.
# What if I donāt like any of the photos?
If you donāt like the photos we take for you, you wonāt spend a penny!
We will either do another shoot for you or we will refund any session fee you have paid, and it wonāt have cost you a penny.
You are never under any obligation to buy anything!
We canāt guarantee you will love every single one, but In almost 30 years we have never had a photo shoot where our clients didnāt like their photos āŗļø
# What if I donāt want my babies photos on your social media or website?
Not all of our clients want to have their babies photos on social media, thatās why we always ask if you want this, we offer it as a free service but only if you want it!
This goes for using your photos on our website as well, we would always ask your permission first if we wanted to use one of your babies photos.
