Beirut Shorts International Film Festival Beirut Shorts International Film Festival is born from the womb of NDU International Film Festival which is being celebrated since 2007.

Beirut Shorts is an Academy Awards - OSCARS qualifying film festival celebrated annually since 2007 in Beirut - Lebanon, under its constant theme “The Power of Youth.” It is a forum for young filmmakers from Lebanon and from around the world to exchange film culture and to communicate via images and sounds. Participants experience different schools and genres, in a liberal environment of positive

competition for best fiction shorts, documentaries and animation, among other awards. Beirut Shorts hosts seminars and workshops in Filmmaking, Cinematography, Scriptwriting, Sound, Acting and Directing, and exposition of latest technologies in the field. The festival honored pioneers in the Lebanese and Arab Cinema and theater, those who have marked the history of the Performing Arts and Film with their signatures: Georges Nasr, Yousef Chahine, Randa Chahal, Raymond Gebara, Emile Chahine, Antoine and Latifeh Moultaka, Dureid Lahham, Abdel Halim Caracalla, Nadine Labaki, Georgette Gebara, Julia Kassar and others…
Our mission is to give our young talents the chance to meet those giants, know them, and learn from them…
In the middle of all the events taking place in this region and in the world, we are gathered at Beirut Shorts to open a window of hope, to work for the future, and to celebrate Peace and Art…

Every festival has its heart, and this one beats through its people.
The team who crafted every detail, the creators who shared their stories, the main guests who enriched the experience, and the audience who transformed a screening room into a shared world.
Beirut Shorts 2025 became more than an event, it became a community gathered in the name of cinema.
