A historic first for 500 hardworking school cooks, janitors/cleaners and ancillary staff. 👏

For the first time, these essential workers received a Government salary in August, ending years of uncertainty during a month when bills, household expenses and back-to-school costs do not stop.

Education Minister Hon. Kenson Casimir championed the change, taking the issue to the Pierre-led Cabinet and making the case for greater fairness and dignity for school support staff.

It was an easy sell.

Prime Minister Hon. Philip J. Pierre and Cabinet backed the policy, with more than $950,000 allocated in the 2026/27 Budget to make August salary payments a permanent reality.

✅ Greater financial security and peace of mind
✅ Stronger standing when approaching banks and financial institutions
✅ Greater dignity, fairness and equity on the job

🚨 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐒 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑. 𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓, 𝐔𝐖𝐏?

For weeks, Allen Chastanet’s UWP demanded Richard Frederick’s head.

Protests. Letters to embassies. Talk-show outrage. Political pressure. They wanted Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre to 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧.

Pierre refused to govern by political hysteria. He said he would await the police.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐤𝐞.

According to the Commissioner of Police, the allegations against Hon. Richard Frederick “𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝.”

The Commissioner said the investigating officer was instructed to be 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡, that he reviewed the voluminous investigative file, was 𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 with the investigation, and supported the recommendation that there was 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞, 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬.

That matters.

Because while the UWP was busy trying the Minister on talk shows and social media, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Pierre waited for evidence.
The UWP demanded punishment first.

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞.

Now that the investigation has reached this conclusion, Saint Lucia deserves to hear from the same voices that were shouting the loudest.

Prime Minister and SLP Political Leader Hon. Philip J. Pierre has put Allen Chastanet’s United Workers Party on notice: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐲.

Amid the UWP’s escalating agitation over unproven allegations surrounding the Saint Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF), Pierre has warned of an impending “𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀”, a public demonstration intended to remind the Opposition exactly where political power ultimately resides:

𝙒𝙄𝙏𝙃 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙋𝙀𝙊𝙋𝙇𝙀. ✊🇱🇨

According to Pierre, Chastanet’s UWP still appears unable to accept the verdict delivered by Saint Lucians on 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. Eight months later, the political temperature is rising, the accusations are getting louder, but the Prime Minister’s response is unmistakable:

The proposed 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 could therefore become much more than a political march. It could be Pierre’s answer to months of Opposition agitation: 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝘅.
