The Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF) welcomed Resident British Commissioner Ms Doyin Adele-Shiyanbola and members of the British High Commission team for a meeting focused on Soufriere’s development journey and the Foundation’s role within the community.
Ms Adele-Shiyanbola met with SRDF’s Executive Chairman Mr Ernest Augier, Administrative Manager Mr Cyril Saltibus and Corporate Communications and Marketing Manager Mrs Lovely Saint-Aimé Joseph.
The discussion provided an opportunity to share the history of the SRDF, the organisation’s community development mandate, the importance of Soufriere’s natural and cultural assets, and the work being undertaken to support sustainable development and economic activity within the region.
The meeting also explored some of the issues affecting the community, the challenges involved in balancing development with the preservation of Soufriere’s natural environment, and the opportunities for continued collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
The SRDF appreciated the opportunity to engage in a thoughtful and productive exchange with the British High Commission team.
