ATTENTION! ✈️ Adelaide Airport is commencing its Main Runway and Taxiways Overlay Project (MRTOP) from Wednesday 4th October until August 2024. This project will ensure the safety and serviceability of aircraft operations for the next 10 – 12 years. In order for these works to be completed, our main runway (Runway 05/23) will be periodically closed during curfew hours for essential maintenance.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? 🦺 During an initial closure period of 4th – 23rd October between 11pm – 6am, minimal curfew-exempted aircrafts will use our cross runway (Runway 12/30) while the main runway is closed. If you live to the southeast or northwest of Adelaide Airport, you may notice an increase in aircraft movements during these times.

We will provide further updates on runway works as the project progresses. We appreciate your understanding as we undertake these important works.

LEARN MORE 🔎 Find out more about MRTOP at www.adelaideairport.com.au/corporate/about-us/projects/mrtop/.

Emirates is upgrading its Sydney services to all Airbus A380S and plans to return to Adelaide South Australia 🇦🇺

The airline currently has three daily flights to Melbourne and Sydney, two daily flights to Brisbane, and a daily A380 service to Perth. Due to having only three landing slots at Sydney Airport, the sole option to increase seat capacity was upsize from the Boeing 777 to the double-decker A380.

Emirates is in talks with Adelaide Airport (ADL) in South Australia to resume nonstop services. This will become feasible next year when the Airbus A350 becomes part of the fleet, allowing for more long-range aircraft availability to serve destinations such as Adelaide.
