🌍 පෘථිවිය වෙනුවෙන් EnvironmentGPT හි ආගමනය

කෘතිම බුද්ධිය (AI) අපේ පෘථිවිය තේරුම් ගන්නා සහ ආරක්ෂා කරන ආකාරය ශීඝ්‍රයෙන් වෙනස් කරමින් සිටිනවා. EnvironmentGPT වැනි නව්‍ය සංකල්ප මඟින් පාරිසරික තීරණ ගැනීම, දේශගුණික විශ්ලේෂණය සහ තිරසාර සැලසුම්කරණය සඳහා AI මෙවලම් කෙතරම් ප්‍රබල ලෙස දායක කරගත හැකිද යන්න මනාව පැහැදිලි කරනවා.

දුරස්ථ සංවේදනය (Remote Sensing) ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් ක්‍රම දෙකකට බෙදා දැක්විය හැකිය, එනම් නිෂ්ක්‍රීය දුරස්ථ සංවේදනය (Passive Remote Sensing) සහ සක්‍රීය දුරස්ථ සංවේදනය (Active Remote Sensing).

1. නිෂ්ක්‍රීය දුරස්ථ සංවේදනය (Passive Remote Sensing)

මෙම ක්‍රමයේදී සංවේදකය (Sensor) විසින් තමන්ගේම ශක්තියක් නිකුත් නොකරයි. ඒ වෙනුවට ස්වභාවිකව පවතින ශක්ති ප්‍රභවයන්ගෙන් ලැබෙන කිරණ මැනීම සිදු කරයි.

- ශක්ති ප්‍රභවය ලෙස ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් සූර්යාලෝකය භාවිතා වේ.

- ක්‍රියාවලිය ගත්විට, සූර්යාලෝකය පෘථිවිය මත පතිත වී පරාවර්තනය වන කිරණ හෝ පෘථිවියෙන් නිකුත් කරන තාප විකිරණ (Thermal radiation) චන්ද්‍රිකා මගින් ග්‍රහණය කරගනී.

- සීමාවන් ලෙස පරාවර්තනය වන ආලෝකය මත පදනම් වන බැවින්, මෙම ක්‍රමය සාර්ථකව ක්‍රියාත්මක වන්නේ දිවා කාලයේදී පමණි.

- උදාහරණ: Landsat සහ Sentinel-2 වැනි දෘශ්‍ය චන්ද්‍රිකා (Optical Satellites).

මෙහිදී සංවේදකය විසින්ම ශක්ති තරංගයක් නිකුත් කර, එය වස්තුවක වැදී නැවත පැමිණෙන ආකාරය (Backscatter) මැනීම සිදු කරයි.

- ශක්ති ප්‍රභවය ලෙස සංවේදකය මගින්ම නිකුත් කරන කෘතිම ශක්තිය (උදා: රේඩාර් තරංග හෝ ලේසර් කිරණ).

- ක්‍රියාවලිය ගත්විට, සංවේදකය මගින් නිකුත් කරන තරංගය පොළොව මත ඇති වස්තුවක වැදී ආපසු පරාවර්තනය වී පැමිණීමට ගතවන කාලය සහ එහි ප්‍රබලතාව මැන බලයි.

- වාසි ලෙස හිරු එළිය අවශ්‍ය නොවන බැවින් දිවා මෙන්ම රාත්‍රී කාලයේදී ද දත්ත ලබාගත හැක. එසේම වලාකුළු හරහා විනිවිද ගොස් දත්ත ලබාගැනීමේ හැකියාව ඇත.

පෘථිවි පෘෂ්ඨයට කිලෝමීටර 2900ක් යටින් හමුවූ අබිරහස් ව්‍යුහයන් සහ පෘථිවි හරයේ සිදුවූ "කාන්දුවීම" 🌍🌋

අපි දන්නා ලෝකය පෘථිවි කබොලට (Crust) සීමා වුනාට, අපේ පෘථිවිය ඇතුළත කිලෝමීටර් දහස් ගණනක් ගැඹුරේ සිදුවන දේවල් හිතාගන්නවත් බැරි තරම් විස්මිතයි.
මෑතකදී Princeton විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ භූ භෞතික විද්‍යාඥයෙකු වන Jie Deng ප්‍රමුඛ කණ්ඩායම Nature Geoscience හි පළ කළ පර්යේෂණයකින් පෘථිවියේ අභ්‍යන්තරය ගැන තිබූ මතවාදයක් මුළුමනින්ම වෙනස් කර තිබෙනවා.මේ ඒ ගැන විස්තරාත්මක විග්‍රහයක්. 👇

1. මොනවද මේ "සැඟවුණු මහද්වීප"? (What are LLSVPs?)
විද්‍යාඥයින් මේවා හඳුන්වන්නේ "Large Low-Shear-Velocity Provinces" (LLSVPs) නමින්. මේවා පිහිටා ඇත්තේ පෘථිවි ප්‍රාවරණය (Mantle) සහ ද්‍රව පෘථිවි හරය (Core) එකිනෙක හමුවන මායිමේයි.
එකක් අප්‍රිකානු මහාද්වීපයට යටින් පිහිටා ඇති අතර අනෙක පැසිෆික් සාගරය යටින් පිහිටා ඇත.
මේවා ප්‍රමාණයෙන් කොච්චර විශාලද කියනවා නම්, එක් ව්‍යුහයක් සාමාන්‍ය මහාද්වීපයකට වඩා විශාලයි.
1980 ගණන්වල භූ කම්පන තරංග (Seismic waves) අධ්‍යයනය කරන විට, මෙම ප්‍රදේශ හරහා තරංග ගමන් කරන්නේ ඉතාම සෙමිනි බව සොයාගත්තා. එයින් තහවුරු වුණේ මේවා අවට ඇති පාෂාණ වලට වඩා හාත්පසින්ම වෙනස් ද්‍රව්‍යයකින් සෑදී ඇති බවයි.

2. අලුත්ම සොයාගැනීම කුමක්ද? (The Core-Leakage Theory)
මෙතෙක් කල් විද්‍යාඥයින් සිතා සිටියේ මේවා පෘථිවියේ අතීතයේ ගිලී ගිය සාගර පතුල්වල (Oceanic crust) කොටස් හෝ පෘථිවිය නිර්මාණය වූ කාලයේ ඉතිරි වූ කොටස් කියායි.

නමුත් Jie Deng ගේ පර්යේෂණයට අනුව, මෙම ව්‍යුහයන් නිර්මාණය වී ඇත්තේ පෘථිවි හරයෙන් (Core) කාන්දු වූ ද්‍රව්‍යයන් මගිනි.
මීට වසර බිලියන ගණනකට පෙර පෘථිවි හරයේ ඇති ද්‍රව්‍ය, ඊට ඉහළින් ඇති ප්‍රාවරණය (Mantle) සමඟ රසායනිකව ප්‍රතික්‍රියා කර තිබෙනවා.
එහිදී නිර්මාණය වූ පාෂාණ ගුලියක් වැනි දේ, අවට ඇති ද්‍රව්‍ය වලට වඩා බරින් වැඩියි. ඒ නිසා ඒවා හරය සහ ප්‍රාවරණය වෙන්වන මායිමේ තැන්පත් වී තිබෙනවා.

3. මෙය අපට වැදගත් වෙන්නේ ඇයි?
මෙය නිකම්ම ගලක් ගැන කතාවක් නෙවෙයි. මෙම සොයාගැනීම පෘථිවියේ "වාසය කිරීමේ හැකියාව" (Habitability) තේරුම් ගැනීමට වැදගත් වෙනවා.
මෙම ව්‍යුහයන් පෘථිවියේ තාපය පාලනය කිරීමට දායක වෙනවා.
පෘථිවි අභ්‍යන්තරයේ සිදුවන මැග්මා ක්‍රියාකාරීත්වයට සහ ගිනිකඳු පිපිරීම්වලට මෙම ව්‍යුහයන්ගේ බලපෑමක් තිබිය හැකියි.
පෘථිවිය අද පවතින තත්ත්වයට පත්වුණේ කෙසේද යන්න තේරුම් ගැනීමට මෙය විශාල පිටිවහලක්.

✨ The Swan Nebula: A Cosmic Masterpiece! ✨

Look at this incredible structure! Meet the Omega Nebula, also known by the beautiful names Swan Nebula and Messier 17. Located about 5,500 light-years away in the direction of the constellation Sagittarius, this stellar nursery is one of the brightest and largest in our galaxy.

The dramatic, billowing shape that gives it the "Swan" nickname is sculpted by intense radiation and fierce stellar winds blowing out from dozens of massive, hot young stars forming deep inside the cloud. The colourful gas—mostly hydrogen and oxygen—is being violently pushed and pulled, making this a chaotic yet stunning birthplace for the stars of tomorrow. It’s truly a window into the raw power of the universe!

🔥 A Starry Inferno in Orion's Belt 🔥

Prepare to be mesmerized by the Flame Nebula (NGC 2024)! Located approximately 1,400 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Orion, this stunning emission nebula is a celestial powerhouse.

Its spectacular red glow is caused by its own hydrogen gas being energized (ionized) by intense ultraviolet radiation emanating from the super-hot, bright star Alnitak—the easternmost star that marks Orion’s Belt. Alnitak is so bright that its powerful energy is essentially lighting up this entire cosmic cloud!

Zoom in and you’ll notice striking dark dust lanes weaving across the luminous red. These aren't empty spaces; they are cold, dense clouds of dust and gas that are actively collapsing to form new stars! The Flame Nebula is truly one of the most active and photogenic star-forming regions in our galactic neighborhood.
