කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය කලා මණ්ඩලය මගින් සංවිධානය කරන ලද ප්‍රවීන ගීත රචක වසන්ත කුමාර කොබවකගේ ගීතය හා එහි සමාජ දේශපාලනය පිළිබද කතිකාව වැඩසටහන 2022 සැප්තැම්බර් මස29 වන දින කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය ශාස්ත්‍ර පීඨයේ ඇම්.බී. ආරියපාල ශ්‍රවනාගාරයේදී පැවැත්විණි.

වසන්ත කුමාර කොබවකගේ ගීතය හා එහි සමාජ දේශපාලනය පිළිබද කතිකාව

මැයි මාසයට යෙදී තිබෙන වෙසක් පුර පසළොස්වක පුන් පොහෝ දිනය ලෝ වැසි සියලු බෞද්ධයන්ගේ ප්‍රධානතම පොහෝ දිනයයි. බුදුන් වහන්සේගේ උපත, බුද්ධත්වයට පත් වීම, පිරිනිවන් පෑම යන උතුම් වූ තෙමගුල නිමිත්තෙන් වෙසක් පොහෝ දිනය වැදගත් වන අතර සුමන සමන් දෙව් රජුගේ ඇරයුමින් සමන්තකූඨ පර්වතය මතුයෙහි වම් ශ්‍රී පාද ලාංජනය පිහිටුවීම, බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගේ තෙවන ලංකාගමනය සිදුවීම, යමා මහා පෙළහර පෑම වැනි ශාසනික වැදගත්කම් ද සිදු විය.
මෙම උතුම් වූ වෙසක් පුර පසළොස්වක පුන් පොහෝ දිනය බැති සිතින් සමරමු!!!...

බුදුන් වහන්සේ විසිදහසක් ආර්ය මහා සංඝරත්නය පිරිවරා සුද්ධෝදන රජතුමා ඇතුළු සිය ඥාතීන්ට අමාමහ නිවන්සුව ලබාදෙනු වස් කිඹුල්වත්පුර‍යට වැඩම කිරීම හා ශාක්‍යයන්ගේ මාන්නය දුරු කිරීමට යමාමහ පෙළහැර පෑම මෙම මැදින් පොහොය දිනයේදී සිදුවිය.තවද යශෝදරා දේවිය බැහැදැකීමට පැමිණි බුදුන් වහන්සේ ඇයට සඳකිඳුරු ජාතකය දේශනා කිරීමත්, සුද්ධෝදන රජතුමා තෙවැනි වරටත් බුදුන් වහන්සේට වැඳ නමස්කාර කිරීම මෙන්ම සුද්ධෝදන රජු ඇතුළු පිරිසට ධර්මපාල ජාතකය දේශනා කිරීමත්, සුද්ධෝදන රජු අනාගාමී ඵලයට පත්වීමත්, රාහුල කුමරු හා නන්ද කුමරු පැවිදි කරවීමත් මෙම පොහොයේ විශේෂත්වය වේ.

After the enlightenment, Lord Buddha visiting his relatives as first time at Kimbulwathpura is the main important incident of this poya day. After coming to the kimbulwathpura Lord buddha abolished the pride of shakyans.To do this task Lord buddha had to do the 'YAMAMAHA PELAHERA'.In addition at this time accepting Yashodara devi's prestige, ordaining the little prince Rahula and Prince Nanda were some special incidents of this journey.As well as at this moment king suddhodhana occurred his third worshiping to son of lord buddha.These special things notes the importance of MADIN POYA day.

புத்தர் ஞானம் பெற்றதைத் தொடர்ந்து தனது தந்தையின் அரண்மனைக்கு புத்தரின் முதல் வருகையை மேதின் பௌர்ணமி தினம் குறிக்கிறது. இலங்கை பௌத்தர்களுக்கு, ஸ்ரீ பாத யாத்திரை காலத்தின் உச்சத்தை குறிக்கும் மெதினின் முழு நிலவு நாள் மிகவும் முக்கியமானது.
