âThe Lies in Learning and Choosing your careerâ
Weâre learning things from the day we were born, but do you remember everything you learned? I donât think so because if you do, youâre unique. Some people are only working for their grades but not for the sake of learning new things. This learning style wonât help you with long-term memory because youâll lose what you learned in a few months or years.
There are few famous lies when it comes to learning and choosing a career. Those are,
âFollow your passion
âYou can avoid the risk
âTrust this one person
â10000 hours rule
đ„Follow your Passion!
Following your passion is so popular but is it true? Can you make a living by doing what youâre passionate about? Life is not bread and butter for everyone. Some people could be passionate about Coding, Biology, Arts, etc. These are amazing because you could be a millionaire only by mastering those skills. But many people donât even know what theyâre passionate about. Some of them try to find their passion for their whole life because of these lies. Sometimes you have to do things that youâre not passionate about to achieve your goals. But it takes so much willpower. So what we say is do what you feel like you should be doing if they help you achieve your life goals. Sometimes after working on something, you can become passionate about that.
đ„You can avoid Risk
What is a risk? Risk is doing something that weâre not familiar with and trying out new things in our life. Everything in our life is attached to a risk. Do you remember how many times you fell before learning to ride a bicycle? How many times did you write letters wrong while learning the alphabet? So whatâs new? We always take risks in our lives, but we like to avoid the dangers and settle down when we grow up. Settling dows is not a growth mindset. To be good at something, you should take risks.
đ„Trust this one person.
We all have role models, donât we? We usually try to imitate them and try to do the things which they did at our age. We think that is the right way to do something. But it could be right or wrong. Getting little influence from people is okay, but copying them wonât do any good to you, because indeed they would have made mistakes while doing those things. You should try to avoid those mistakes and be wiser. Anyone doesnât know everything in life, so be careful with who you trust in the process. Be with people that are wiser than you and keep in touch. Never trust one person with everything.
đ„10000 hours rule.
10000 hours rule is the most overrated rule in the world when it comes to learning. It says, if you do something for more than 10000 hours, you can master it. But is it the truth? I donât think so. Giving 10000 hours in your life to master one skill is absolute time wastage. You should learn as much as you can in a limited amount of time, and then you should create a framework by using the Skill stacking method. We will talk about it soon. This framework should contain a few skills that every human needs to succeed in life, such as public speaking, sales, negotiation, etc.
These are the biggest lies that are popular in learning and choosing your career. Once you get these lies out of your mind, youâll be one step closer to your success.
