⚓️🚢 MOORING LINE ARRANGEMENTS – Basic Things a Cadet Must Know ✅
Vessel එකක් berth එකට safely alongside කරලා තියන්න Mooring Lines ගොඩක් වැදගත්.
සාමාන්‍ය six-line mooring arrangement එකකදී, එක එක line එකෙන් vessel එකේ different movements control කරනවා.
🔴 1. Head Line
👉 Bow එක astern direction එකට move වීම prevent කරන්න help කරනවා.
ඒ වගේම vessel එකේ longitudinal restraint එකටත් contribute වෙනවා.
🔵 2. Stern Line
👉 Stern එක control කරමින් vessel එක forward movement එක excessive වෙන එක prevent කරන්න help කරනවා.
🟢 3. Breast Lines
👉 මේ lines vessel එකෙන් nearly perpendicular direction එකට lead වෙනවා.
ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් vessel එක berth එකෙන් sideways / away movement වෙන එක prevent කරනවා.
🟡 4. Spring Lines
👉 මේ lines vessel එකට nearly parallel විදිහට lead වෙනවා.
Vessel එකේ fore-and-aft movement (surge) control කිරීම තමයි main purpose එක.
🌊 Why are Mooring Lines Important?
Wind 💨, Current 🌊, Tide, Waves සහ passing vessels නිසා vessel එකට forces ඇති වෙනවා.
මේ forces වලට against vessel එක safe position එකේ alongside තියාගන්න Head, Stern, Breast සහ Spring Lines එකට work කරනවා. ⚓️
📌 Easy way to remember:
➡️ Breast Lines = Sideways movement control
➡️ Spring Lines = Fore & Aft movement control
➡️ Head Line = Bow control
➡️ Stern Line = Stern control
