A LOVE THAT EXISTS BEYOND THE REACH OF MONEY β PART 4
Adrian turned away first, his heartbeat unsteady, his chest tight with something he couldnβt name. He didnβt look back β afraid that if he did, the moment would fall apart like glass in his hands.
Linh stood still, clutching her books, her breath trembling. Then she walked toward her class, her mind spinning with questions she couldnβt answer. Who was that boy? And why did his eyes feel like a memory she couldnβt recall?
When she entered the classroom, whispers filled the air. Eyes followed her β cold, curious, cruel. The group of rich girls in the front row exchanged knowing glances, their smiles sharp as knives.
Linh felt the weight of their stares but stayed quiet. She had no time for petty games; her only goal was to study hard, keep her scholarship, and honor the woman who had raised her.
Then the professor walked in. Papers rustled. The room fell silent.
βAdrian Langston,β he said, reading from his list. βYouβll be working withβ¦ Linh Tran.β
Every head turned. The room buzzed with shock. Adrian lifted his eyes. Linh froze.
