With gratitude and deep respect, I remember Rev. Fr. Dr. Camillus Fernando, whose guidance left a lasting impact on my journey. 🙏
After completing my IT degree, I randomly got the chance to attend an interview at Aquinas for a lecturing position. That unexpected moment led me to an even greater opportunity, being referred to Rev. Fr. Dr. Camillus Fernando for an A/L IT teaching urgent vacancy position at Holy Cross College, Kalutara.
At that time, the students did not have a dedicated A/L IT teacher. I walked in with big hopes, but also with fear and uncertainty. Father Camillus conducted my interview and believed in me. He gave me that opportunity, something I will always be grateful for. 💙
Under his guidance, we organized the very FIRST and to this day, the ONLY IT Day at the school. It remains a moment I am deeply proud of, made possible through his encouragement, mentorship, and trust.
Though my time there was short, as I chose to explore new paths in my career, his kind words and guidance stayed with me. I witnessed his dedication, everything he did was for the betterment of the school, the students, and the wider world. 💙
It was deeply saddening to hear of his passing. Yet, I feel truly blessed to have had the chance to pay my last respects and honor for you Father.
May God grant him eternal peace.
