We are proud of you Dimanthi!!!!๐๐ฉโ๐
Congratulations!
"On entering the college for the first time, it was a pleasant feeling to see all the lectures welcoming me with warm smiles to my new family, Gateway Graduate School (GGS). Years passed by at GGS and I blended well into its culture since it was in harmony with my core values.
The turning point in my life was when I topped the batch for mathematics at IFD. This helped me to believe in myself and my strength and thus inspiring me to work to the best of my ability. I decided to work hard, and this self-reliance and self-determination paid off very well in the next few years. I became the second highest in my batch and the third highest globally at Level 4 Diploma in the academic year 2017 and was able to claim the second highest globally at Level 5 Diploma in the academic year 2018. To my greatest pleasure this was honored as an outstanding performance. At present I am a final year student at Gateway Graduate School reading for a degree in BSc. Hon. in Business Computing and Information Systems.
A noteworthy feature of GGS is that the modules are delivered by an experienced and a friendly staff of lecturers. The support they rendered enhanced my personality and helped me to maintain high levels of motivation throughout the course. I also realized that in addition to my own dedication and effort, the guidance and assistance provided by the lectures enabled me to achieve world best results. Iโm also reminded of the quote, โteachers who love teaching, teach children to love learningโ. My lectures helped me to acquire the relevant knowledge and skills with so much of passion that learning became a wonderful experience to me. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my lectures since my great achievements would not be a reality without their unstinting support.
Finally, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my parents for their untiring efforts and support rendered purely relying on my abilities at a time when I myself hardly was aware of my potentialities. One memorable incident was when I was at crossroads not knowing whether to accept the offer of a teaching post at Bishops College since teaching was a childhood dream of mine, or to pursue in my higher studies. It was my parents who encouraged me to take up the offer and realize my childhood dream while reading for the degree at GGS. Thus, they had much faith in my abilities than I did.
Of course, I would fail in my duty if I donโt mention two other significant personalities, the head of the IT department and the then Director Dr. Harsha Alles whose apt advice also was a contributing factor towards taking this challenge. It was an invaluable experience which helped me immensely to succeed in my higher education reaching great heights.
In conclusion let me quote an ancient proverb. A wise man once said that to value a pair of slippers one should walk thousands of miles barefooted. The analogy is that to achieve success, which is never earned overnight, one must go a hard journey. One may encounter many obstacles, wrong decisions, many errors but never get discouraged. Instead keep moving forward overcoming obstacles intelligently, seeking expert advice before making decisions and most importantly being receptive to corrections. Trying to look for the right or wrong pathways or who achieved it first or the best will only take you nowhere. "
