Nah I’m actually so confused😅😭

Like at least have some toilet roll 😭

& hand sanitizer 🥲

I’ve found this at so many places in China & I’m really confused as to what locals do

If anyone could enlighten me that would be great 👍

Thanks x

China has me acting way too comfortable 😂😅

Hope it doesn’t all come crashing down HAHAHA😅

I came to China expecting to talk about the technology, the trains and the futuristic cities🌃

Instead, I’ve found myself noticing something much less obvious..

I’ve spent weeks walking around with my phone permanently out for maps, translations, train tickets and filming videos

& I’ve literally never once had that mini panic of “wait, where’s my phone???”😭

There’s a lot of surveillance here so that has definitely put my mind at ease🤝🇨🇳

Meanwhile in London I HATEEEE using it because I’m so scared it’ll get stolen AGAIN (happened twice now🙃🙃)

Genuinely feels like in the West there’s no consequences for some crimes 🤬

I’ve noticed it way more since travelling around Asia and comparing it to back home.

Obviously this is just my own experience, but it’s something I’ve noticed almost every day since being here.

Anyone else who’s travelled in China felt the same? 👇

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t 😂😭

I was trying not to assume and somehow that made it worse 😭😂

Apart from embarrassing myself, I’ve been having an amazing time in Shenzhen.

This city is absolutely blowing my mind. Every day I see something that makes me feel like I’ve accidentally travelled a few years into the future 🤯

Stay tuned for all the incredible things we did!!👀

I’m not sure when the rest of the world will catch up, but China is on a completely different level 😂🇨🇳

She won’t let me book a 2nd lesson💀😂

I gave her in sweets and a teddy bear 🧸🍬

She has the patience of a SAINT 😅

We came across the most amazing family in a local village in China and ended up staying at their family-run hotel.

The children spoke incredible English 🤯 Honestly, their English was better than some adults I’ve met back home.

Meanwhile, I couldn’t even pronounce her brother’s name 😂😭

She spent over an hour trying to teach me. Every time I thought I’d finally got it right, she’d politely smile, shake her head, and make me try again 😅

With Mandarin the tones completely change the meaning, which is a slight problem when you can’t even hear the difference half the time 😂😭

The funny thing is that she never got frustrated once. If anything, she seemed determined to make me leave China speaking at least one word properly.

Sadly, despite her best efforts, I fear that mission was unsuccessful 😭

Still, moments like this are one of my favourite things about travelling. You arrive somewhere expecting to see famous sights and tourist attractions, and instead end up spending an afternoon laughing with a local family you’ll never forget 🥰❤️

I don’t think I’ll be fluent any time soon... but if patience was a language, she’d be native😂😅

China’s national holiday is NOT for the weak 😭🇨🇳

I knew it would be busy… but I didn’t realise it would turn into a full-time job trying to find somewhere to sleep for a few days 😭😂

The amount of tabs we had open trying to compare prices was actually ridiculous😭

And every time we finally found somewhere decent, it either vanished, doubled in price, or somehow existed cheaper on another site five minutes later

Travelling China during holiday season is basically survival of the fittest at this point 💀

cozycozy has genuinely made the process less painful because it saves me from manually checking 15 different websites every time we move city🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Future me is going to be VERY grateful I found this app before the rest of Asia trip starts

Have you ever travelled China during a national holiday??😅 Let me know 👇🏼

Also check the national holidays before you travel because I didn’t even think to do that💀
