🏏 Sri Lanka’s T20 World Cup Bowling King — Wanindu Hasaranga 🇱🇰
Records are meant to be broken — and Wanindu Hasaranga has done it on the world stage. Surpassing Lasith Malinga’s long-standing mark, Hasaranga has now become Sri Lanka’s all-time leading wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history with 39 wickets.
More than just a statistic, this milestone highlights his impact as Sri Lanka’s go-to strike bowler in pressure moments. In an era dominated by power-hitting, Hasaranga’s variations, control, and match awareness have made him a consistent game-changer. A new chapter of Sri Lankan T20 legacy is being written — and his name is at the centre of it.

ICC warns against selective participation as T20 World Cup 2026 integrity comes under spotlight

• ICC has taken note of the Pakistan government’s directive on selective participation in the 2026 T20 World Cup
• ICC is still awaiting official communication from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)
• Selective participation goes against the core principle of a global tournament where all qualified teams compete equally
• ICC events are built on integrity, fairness, consistency and competitiveness
• Any form of selective participation undermines the spirit and sanctity of ICC competitions
• ICC respects the role of governments, but stresses this decision is not in the best interest of world cricket or fans, including millions in Pakistan
• ICC urges PCB to consider the long-term consequences for cricket in Pakistan and the global cricket ecosystem
• ICC’s priority remains the successful conduct of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026
• All member boards, including PCB, share responsibility in safeguarding the tournament
• ICC expects PCB to seek a mutually acceptable solution that protects all stakeholders
