it is the great sadness to inform you all that distinguished Old Boy Economist and former Central Bank Governor Mr A S Jayawardana has passed away on today May 29th, 2018. Let's pray for him. We lost another great son of St. Thomas' Matale today.

RSM M.P.M. Kaduwela – RSM after Eighteen Years

M.P.M. Kaduwela, was born in 24th Of August 1996 and received his admission to St. Thomas' College, Matale in 2007. He was a young Thomian back then and chosen to be a part of Pius House. After Three years in 2010, his passion lead him to join School NCC Cadet Platoon.

With in our 142 years of history Cadet Platoon hold a great place. Cadet Platoon first established in 1940. At present our Cadet Platoon represent 13th Battalion since year 2000. One of the highest positions in NCC Corps is RSM (Regiment Sergent Major), which has been granted to Thomians' many times since 1940 till now . Which shows the dedication and achievement by our young blood.

Since 1997, School has been lacking with the post RSM. After Eighteen years of effort School has a new RSM, RSM M.PM. Kaduwela.

RSM M.P.M. Kaduwela started off his career in 2010 as a Junior Cadet. In 2011 & 2012 School won 13th Battalion Championships. In both occasions RSM M.P.M. Kaduwela served as a valuable Cadet to achieve the Championships. Upon his dedication and performance he was promoted to Sergent Post in 2013. Respectively with his achievement once again lifted to post of Staff Sergent in 2014. RSM M.P.M. Kaduwela, did not stop by there, he continued his dedication as a Cadet with his passion and love. In 2015 M.PM. Kaduwela, once again after Eighteen long years he achieved “Regiment Sergent Major” post of 13th Battalion for the School. RSM M.P.M. Kaduwela's, achievement has uplifted School Cadet to new level well as has boosted the moral of fellow Thomians'. RSM M.P.M. Kaduwela, has been a valued member to our School Platoon, for 13th Battalion and for National Cadet Corps. RSM M.P.M. Kaduwela's, devotion, dedication, love for what he does, talent and professionalism has made him to achieve the best. At 2015 Sport Meet RSM M.P.M. Kaduwela, lead the final Marchpast proudly and gave a great leadership to Platoon Tatoo. He is a true example of achieving the best in what he passionate at, in this modern era.

I would like to wish RSM M.P.M. Kaduwela all the very best behalf of St. Thomas' College, Matale, Old Thomians' & Thomians'. As fellow Thomians' we will be behind you supporting and appreciating your achievements.

I had an opportunity to witness this beautiful event and also to meet lots of friends.
