Eight months traveling Sri Lanka.

The thing we missed most wasn’t home. It was a real coffee.

Sri Lanka is a tea country. Incredible tea. But coffee at most places is instant, or sweet milk coffee. You order one and it’s a gamble.

Then we found our first Barista in Sigiriya. A proper espresso bar. Real machine, real coffee. First good cup in weeks. Azira didn’t say a word, just smiled.

From there, wherever we traveled, we’d find one. Sometimes right nearby, sometimes a bit out of the way. Didn’t matter.

Kandy. Nuwara Eliya. Ella. Mirissa. Ahangama. Galle.

Same coffee, every single time.

It became the ritual. The reset after a rough travel day.

On a long trip you stop chasing new. You start needing the one thing that stays the same.

You won’t find this in most travel guides. 🌊

Walking along the coast in Galle, we met a local who jumps from these rocks into the ocean. No ticket. No show. Just a tradition, a smile, and a jump if you ask.

We gave him a tip afterwards—well deserved. ❤️🇱🇰

Sometimes the best travel memories are the unexpected ones.
