Why was Charlyne Brumskine absent from the 21st Anniversary of the Liberty Party? Eminent Son of Grand Bassa Charles Vah says the Liberty Party has not reconciled

“I realized that the vision of Cllr. Charles Brumskine is no longer in the Liberty Party. I am surprised to see that Cllr. Charlyne Brumskine was absent. And her absence tells you that indeed the Liberty Party has not reconciled. The main reason why the Liberty Party has not reconciled is because of the leadership. The leadership of the Liberty Party lacks the ability to reconcile itself. They don’t know how to reconcile people. They don’t even know how to reconcile the constituents that they represent; need less to mention the political party that they are identifying with. Interestingly today the Liberty Party had their 21st Anniversary Celebrations at the Monrovia City Hall. I was fortunate to witness the program live. Indeed, it was grand occasion. But what I observe was that the absent of certain key figures in the Liberty Party. And their absence sends a message. It tells you that there is still a problem in the Liberty Party. And largely, that problem has to do with the Leadership of the Liberty Party. They don’t know how to reconcile as our leaders. They don’t know how to maintain collaborative unity within the party. When it comes to political gathering, it’s number to win an election. A political institution is not a clique or an institution that you have certain individuals pushing people away. It should be a kind of open-door institution to galvanize the support that you need to win an election. I urge the Liberty Party to look at itself; to reevaluate its objectives and try to live up to the dream of Cllr. Brumskine instead of using the party as shield to push other people away.” Hon. Charles Vah, Prominent Son, Grand Bassa County

YOU ARE THE PRIDE OF GRAND BASSA & LIBERIA, WALK IN CONFIDENCE, PLAY BY THE RULES AND SUCCEED!”, SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM COMMERCE MINISTER HON. MAGDALENE ELLEN DAGOSEE TO ALL 12TH GRADERS AHEAD OF WASSCE TOMORROW

As the sun rises tomorrow morning across our beautiful nation, a new and defining chapter will begin for thousands of young Liberians. From the cities of Monrovia and Buchanan to the remotest villages in our counties, over twenty thousand students, especially our brilliant sons and daughters of Grand Bassa County, will walk into examination centers to sit for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

To every 12th grader preparing your pen, sharpening your pencil, and saying your prayers tonight, I, Hon. Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and above all, a proud, true Daughter of Grand Bassa, write this message to you as a Minister, as a Leader, but most importantly, as a Mother.

I was once where you are sitting right now. I felt the same anxiety, the same mixed feelings of excitement and fear. I know your heart is beating fast. You are asking yourselves: “Did I read enough? Will I remember? Will I pass?”

Listen to me clearly, my beloved children: yes, you will!
For the past 12 years, you have paid your dues. You woke up early when others were sleeping. You walked long distances to school. You sat under trees and in classrooms, listening to your teachers and studying late into the night. You sacrificed playtime for books. That hard work is your seed. Tomorrow is your Harvest. Do not let anyone, not even your own mind, convince you that you are not ready. You are ready!

I am praying for you. I have asked God to pour His Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, and Retentive Memory upon every single one of you. When you sit down, say a short prayer: “Lord, open my mind to remember all I have read.” Read every question twice before you answer. Think well. Write clearly. Manage your time.

My children, the future of Liberia is in your hands. I want to see you become the next Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, Business Magnates, Politicians, and Ministers of this land. I want to see YOU sitting where I am sitting today, doing even better than I have done.

BIG DAY TOMORROW! 12TH GRADERS ACROSS LIBERIA BEGIN WASSCE , DRESS NEAT, DROP FEAR, FOLLOW RULES AND SUCCEED!

Tomorrow morning, across every county, city, and village in Liberia, thousands of nervous but excited young men and women will walk through school gates, take their seats in examination halls, and face the biggest academic milestone of their young lives: the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

For all 12th graders, this is the moment you have been preparing for since your days in elementary school. It is the bridge between high school and your bright future, the gateway to universities, colleges, and professional dreams.

As you pick up your pens and sharpen your pencils tomorrow, we at Empire TV want to speak directly to you, from our hearts to yours, with words of advice, caution, and strong encouragement.

We know your heart is beating fast. We know you feel butterflies in your stomach. It is normal to be a little nervous, but fear has no place in that examination hall. Fear makes your mind go blank; fear makes you forget what you know; fear causes mistakes. You have studied hard. You have burnt the midnight oil. Your teachers have taught you, and your parents have prayed for you. You are prepared! Walk into that hall with your head high. Tell yourself: “I know what I read, and I am ready.” This is a public test, yes, but it is a test of what you already know. Do not let anxiety steal your success. Be calm, read every question carefully, think before you write, and trust your brain. You can do this!

Remember: you are not just students anymore; at this level, you are young adults and future leaders. The way you dress is the way you will be addressed. Tomorrow, wear your school uniform or your formal clothes neatly. Iron your shirt or dress. Look clean, sharp, and respectful. When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you perform better. Examiners respect students who carry themselves with dignity. Represent your school, your parents, and your county well. Let your appearance show that you are serious about your future.

This is the most critical warning we give you today. Thousands of brilliant students have ruined their future and wasted years of hard work simply because they ignored simple rules. Do not be one of them!

DO NOT CARRY ANY MOBILE PHONE! , Not a smart phone, not a “yam” phone, not even a small button phone. NO PHONE OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE EXAM HALL. Even if you say, “I just want to keep it in my pocket,” or “It is off,” it does not matter. If you are caught with it, the result is immediate: DISQUALIFICATION. Your papers will be seized, and you will be banned from writing for years. It is not worth it. Leave your phone at home, with a friend, or in your car/bag outside.

Do not bring notebooks, pieces of paper with notes written on them, “expos”, calculators (unless specifically allowed for that subject), or any written material. Do not try to whisper to your neighbor, do not try to copy, and do not try to look at someone else’s paper. Cheating is a trap! You may think you are smart, but invigilators are trained to catch you. One wrong move, and your entire effort for 12 years becomes zero.

To every 12th grader in Liberia, from Montserrado to Grand Bassa, from Lofa to Maryland, from Nimba to Gbarpolu: The stage is yours tomorrow. This is your time to shine. This is your chance to prove that Liberia’s youth are intelligent, disciplined, and ready to lead.

“WHEN THE VACANCY EXISTS THAT’S IT BUT AS IT STANDS, THE RUMOUR OF ME WANTING TO CONTEST AS REPRESENTATIVE IS FALSE AND MISLEADING”, HON. GABRIEL MONTGOMERY

As the political atmosphere in Grand Bassa County begins to heat up in anticipation of the watershed 2029 election , one of the county’s most influential and talked‑about leaders, Hon. Gabriel Montgomery, has come out swinging to clear his name and set the record straight.

In a definitive press conference held Sunday evening, he moved decisively to dismantle weeks of swirling rumors, speculation, and political narratives linking him to a contest for the House of Representatives.

Hon. Montgomery said the story is completely untrue and misleading. “Not a day have I ever discussed with anyone about wanting to be Representative,” he stated plainly.

Hon. Montgomery said firmly: “I have no room for a representative seat.”

He did not stop at denying the rumor; he went on to analyze the motive behind it. He described these circulating stories as misinformation and part of what he suspects are deliberate attempts to create confusion and distraction.

In politics, he implied, rumors are often weapons used to shift focus, divide supporters, or drag a leader down to a lower level when they aim higher.

He told the public and his supporters: only believe news that comes directly from him, everything else is just gossip and lies.

VALARIE’S ANGEL NETWORK LIBERIA HOLDS YEAR‑END DINNER FOR 40+ SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS; SWEDEN‑BASED CEO VALARIE SNOWE NIMELY SAYS “GIVING BACK IS MY CALLING”

In a beautiful atmosphere filled with joy, gratitude, and family spirit, Valarie’s Angel Network Liberia on Saturday hosted its annual Year‑End Scholarship Dinner, bringing together over 40 bright young students currently benefiting from the foundation's educational support program across Grand Bassa County.

The Dinner is a key highlight of the Foundation’s yearly activities, designed to bring all beneficiaries, parents, teachers, and administrators together under one roof. Beyond the food and festivities, the dinner serves as a time for connection, mentorship, celebration of academic progress, and strengthening the bond between the donors and the recipients. It is a tradition: at the end of every academic year, the “children of the Foundation” come together to meet, greet, share testimonies, and break bread as one big family.

At the heart of this impactful initiative is the Founder and CEO, Madam Valarie Snowe Nimely, a daughter of Grand Bassa County who now resides in Sweden, but whose heart never left her homeland.

Speaking at the ceremony via special message, Madam Nimely recounted the journey of love and commitment that began eight years ago.

“Since the establishment of this Foundation in 2018, we have remained steadfast in our mission to support school‑going children, most especially those in dire need who would otherwise be forced to drop out,” Madam Nimely stated proudly.

She outlined that the support package goes far beyond just paying tuition fees. Year after year, Valarie’s Angel Network Liberia ensures that students receive essential learning materials, including dozens of copy books, stationery, and sometimes even school uniforms, removing every possible barrier that could prevent a child from sitting in a classroom.

For Madam Nimely, this project is not just charity work; it is a deep sense of duty and love for her roots.
“As a daughter of Grand Bassa, this is one major way I believe I can give back to my people and contribute to the development of our beloved County.

Education is the key, and if I can help unlock that door for just one child, my heart is at rest,” she emphasized.

The event was filled with emotional moments of appreciation. Students, accompanied by their parents, as well as school administrators and teachers, took turns to pour out their heartfelt thanks to the Foundation and its CEO. With joy written all over their faces, they testified that Valarie’s Angel Network has not only lived up to its promises but has consistently exceeded expectations, standing tall as a reliable partner in education over the years.

SENATOR SAAH H. JOSEPH’S OFFICE CLARIFIES DISMISSAL OF ROBERT MYERS, SAYS TERMINATION DUE TO DISRESPECT, NOT POLITICS

The Office of Senator Saah H. of (Montserrado County) has issued an official statement setting the record straight regarding the recent dismissal of former staff member, Mr. Robert Myers, dismissing circulating claims that he was fired for posting a photograph of former President George Manneh Weah.

In a press release dated May 31, 2026, the office clarified that the decision to end Mr. Myers’ employment was never about his political views or who he chose to support or post about. Instead, the action was taken strictly due to his persistent pattern of verbally attacking and disrespecting public officials — from both the opposition and ruling establishment. Officials emphasized that such conduct directly violates the core standards, values, and professional ethics required of anyone working under Senator Joseph’s office.

The statement made it clear that political affiliation has never been a barrier or a requirement for employment within the office. In fact, it noted that several active members and supporters of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), other opposition parties, as well as members of the ruling establishment currently hold key positions and continue to serve without hindrance. This, according to the release, is proof of Senator Joseph’s firm commitment to inclusivity, tolerance, and respect for differing political opinions.

Authorities stressed that the decision to terminate Mr. Myers was not taken lightly or abruptly. He had reportedly received repeated warnings, counseling, and guidance regarding his conduct long before the final action was taken. Despite these interventions, the former staff member failed to adjust his behavior or adhere to the office’s code of professionalism and respect, leaving management with no other option but to sever ties.

Senator Saah H. Joseph reaffirmed his stance as a unifying leader who remains actively engaged with the opposition while working constructively with the government to deliver development and improve the lives of ordinary citizens. As a standing policy, all staff members are expected to show courtesy and respect to all national leaders and public officials, regardless of party, status, or personal differences.

The office concluded by urging the public to disregard misleading narratives surrounding the case, stating: “The Office of Senator Joseph remains committed to professionalism, mutual respect, and service to the Liberian people.”

COMMERCE MINISTER DAGOSEH HONORED AS FAITH, SERVICE & COMMUNITY ROLE MODEL

Mount Nebo Baptist Church overflowed with joy and reverence on Sunday, May 31, 2026, during a special Mother’s Day celebration.

The service centered on honoring all mothers, but shone a special spotlight on Hon. Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh, Minister of Commerce and Industry and a proud, daughter of Grand Bassa County. Beyond her high‑ranking government role, she was celebrated as a woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion.

More than a key member of President Boakai’s cabinet, Minister Dagoseh is cherished by her church family as a true servant of God, a pillar of the assembly, and a spiritual mother to many. Her citation perfectly captured her essence: “A Mother. A Leader. A Blessing. Honoring you today and always for your love, strength, and dedication to God, family and community.” This tribute reflects her rare ability to balance the heavy responsibilities of national office with consistent, humble service to God.

Despite the demanding duties of managing Liberia’s commerce and industrial sectors, she remains firmly rooted in her faith and community.

To the people of Mount Nebo, she is affectionately known simply as “the woman of her church”, always present, always generous, and always ready to support God’s work through funding, leadership, outreach, and encouragement. Her impact on the growth and stability of the congregation is immense and widely celebrated.

Drawing from Proverbs 31:28, “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her”, the event highlighted her as a living example of the scripture. Unlike many who distance themselves from faith after gaining political power, Minister Dagoseh stands out, proving it is possible to excel in government while remaining a dedicated, active worker in the house of God.

Her inspiring life sends a powerful message: true greatness is not defined by titles or positions, but by lives touched, good deeds done, and faithfulness to God.

Over the years, churches and women’s groups across Grand Bassa have been honoring her for her numerous sacrifices and contributions to both the Christian and Muslim communities.
