2025/2026 Local Scholarship Vetting Results Released

The Ministry of Education is pleased to publish the final results of the 2025/2026 Local Scholarship Vetting Exercise. Applicants are kindly advised to review the attached image carefully or use the link below to confirm their names.

This process forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing reforms to strengthen transparency, merit-based selection, and accountability in scholarship administration.

All successful applicants are required to report to the Scholarships Division, Ministry of Education, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding before onward transmission to their respective universities, beginning Monday, February 16, 2026.

We congratulate the successful candidates and thank all applicants for their interest in advancing their education.

4,635 Liberians employed by ArcelorMittal Liberia in 10 months , first Of it kind !

ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) has released data on Liberian employment by its contractors in 2025:
4,635 Liberians were employed by 73 contractor companies (Jan-Oct 2025)

2,883 were skilled workers; 1,558 from fenceline communities

1,752 were unskilled workers; 1,229 from fenceline communities

54% of skilled and 70% of unskilled workers were from fenceline communities

Jobs are advertised through AML's Community Relations Section, prioritizing fenceline communities as per a January 2025 mandate. 💼

The Third Amendment to ArcelorMittal Liberia's Mineral Development Agreement brings significant benefits to Liberia:
- $200M signature bonus to the Rescue Mission Administration

Increased community development funds ($5M/year for Nimba, B**g, Grand Bassa)

More Liberian jobs and leadership roles (50% management in 1 year, 90% in 10 years)

Priority for Liberian businesses and scholarships for students

Infrastructure upgrades (roads, bridges, railway)
- Support for education and vocational training
- Shared rail access for other mining companies

Liberia gets more revenue, jobs, and infrastructure 🚀🇱🇷

US$5,000,000 Annual Community Fund: Yearly payments
for Nimba. bond. and Grand bassa counties to fund local socioeconomic projects. This is an increase from the original US$3,000,000. This new amount will be adjusted every vear for inflation
