Nimba County — Sanniquellie
The Nimba County Administration, headed by Superintendent Kou Meapeh Gono, has constructed and officially handed over a fully finished apartment to the Liberia National Police to serve as the permanent residence of the County Police Commander.
The turnover ceremony was held on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Sanniquellie City and brought together local authorities, security officials, and community members. The event was graced by the Inspector General of Police, Gregory O. W. Coleman.
In remarks delivered during the ceremony, IGP Coleman expressed profound gratitude to the Nimba County leadership for what he described as a significant contribution to the operational effectiveness of the Liberia National Police. He emphasized that providing decent accommodation for security personnel strengthens morale and enhances service delivery.
“Without security, development will be undermined,” IGP Coleman stated, noting that the new residence represents the county’s commitment to supporting law enforcement and maintaining peace and stability in Nimba County.
The initiative underscores the continued collaboration between county authorities and national security institutions in promoting peace, safety, and sustainable development.
