Two Dead, Three in Critical Condition After Fatal Accident in Nimba County
At least two persons have died and three others are currently under intensive care at the E&J Hospital following a tragic road accident in Nimba County.
The accident occurred on the night of March 18, 2026, around 9:00 PM along the Nengbein–Kpein Highway near Kogar’s Farm.
It involved a red pickup and a vehicle belonging to the Executive Protection Service (EPS), bearing plate number 79, reportedly part of the motorcade of Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung.
According to reports, two persons were pronounced dead at the Esther and Jerelyn Medical Center.
The deceased have been identified as Anna Behyee, believed to be 66 years old, and Joe Bantu, the driver of the pickup.
Both victims are residents of Tappita City in Lower Nimba County.
Three other occupants of the pickup truck sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment.
They include Princess Zaimie, 20, a pregnant woman; Teeboy Gaye, 34; and Elizabeth Saye, 56—all residents of Tappita.
Additionally, three other passengers in the pickup reportedly survived the crash without injuries.
Meanwhile, individuals who were onboard the EPS vehicle were taken to a nearby health facility for medical attention.
However, authorities have not yet confirmed the number of occupants in the EPS vehicle at the time of the collision.
The bodies of the deceased have since been identified by their families.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.

During the course of the accident, the Vice President’s motorcade was not traveling as part of the incident.
