Yes! The Kimbo's Foundation is seen as one of the outstanding organizations within B**g County currently! Early this morning, Mr. David P. Sackie, the Secretary General attended another great gathering organized by Messenger of Peace (MoP) held at the St. Martin's Catholic School Compound under the Theme: "Public Forum" with emphasis on:
1. Human Rights
2. Democracy & Accountability and
3. Education.
4. Domestic and Sexual Violence.
With the importance of this FORUM, local government officials served as panelists namely: The B**g County Administrator, The B**g County Police Commander, The B**g County Gender Division and The County Education officer.
During the interaction, Mr. Sackie who represented the Foundation outlined the challenges in key areas. Beginning with Education and Domestic and Sexual Violence.
In his remarks, he recommended that the Education sector is one of the many Ministries that is constrained with POOR MONITORING POLICY, INCOMPETENT SERVICE PROVIDERS and Budgetary Support.
On the flapp side, he mentioned a campaign that was launched in 2023 by UNDP organization on Domestic and Sexual Base Violence. He reminded participants and organizers that; r***d is an epidemic that the ministry of Gender Children protection needs to look at because, it says: 2 out of 10 endorse Domestic Violence and 1 out of 10 endorse Gender Base Violence.
Furthermore, he highlights the legislative efforts made in 2020 where they declare r**e as a national emergency and 2019 it was approved. The minister of Gender needs to look at the 2005 law that make r**e non bailable. In the absence of these challenges; PEACE can't flow and we will make no impact or marks with the campaigns.
In summary, he provided a ways forward for maintaining a substaiable peace but he encouraged other organization members to be Fair and wrapped their advocacies on facts rather than feeling.
He also appreciated the CEO, Mr. J. Marcus Kimbo for the confident vest in hime always.
