FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VOINJAMA, Lofa County – In a dramatic turn of events, Mr. Patrick Fayia, the detained leader representing aggrieved students from Lofa County University's fifth graduating class, has reportedly appealed for forgiveness from the man he accused. Fayia, held at the Voinjama Police Station on the Monrovia Highway, has admitted wrongdoing in his confrontation with Mr. Emmanuel D. Mulbah.

Fayia was arrested after allegedly attacking and obstructing the movement of Mulbah, the President of the graduating class. He faces formal charges of Character Assassination and Felonious Restraint.

A Public Plea and a Heated Scene

Sources close to the situation report that from police custody, Mr. Fayia has sent appeals to Mr. Mulbah, admitting he was wrong for the physical altercation and seeking forgiveness. This personal plea comes amidst the unresolved public financial allegations he had spearheaded.

The scene at the Voinjama Police Station grew tense as a crowd of Mr. Fayia’s supporters gathered, demanding his release. Law enforcement officials managed the gathering, which underscored the heightened emotions surrounding the case.

A Divided Path Forward

The situation now presents two parallel tracks: the legal case against Mr. Fayia for the alleged assault, and the unresolved, systemic issue of financial transparency for the student body. Fayia's apology to Mulbah pertains only to their personal confrontation, not to the substance of the financial accusations.

The University administration has yet to issue a statement on either the arrest or the financial audit demanded by the students. All eyes are now on the police proceedings and whether the university will step in to investigate the serious fiscal allegations that precipitated this conflict.

Charges Explained:

🔹Character Assassination: The act of making false and malicious statements to damage a person's reputation.
🔹Felonious Restraint: The illegal confinement or obstruction of a person's freedom of movement.

This is a developing story. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
