Dillon, Labor Minister Kruah Hold Solidarity Talks

Senator Darius Dillon and Labor Minister Cooper Kruah on Wednesday held a solidarity engagement aimed at easing recent tensions and reaffirming mutual cooperation in the interest of the Liberian people.

The meeting was facilitated by Senator Thomas Yaya Nimely, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Labor.

“I have spoken to folks, particularly party members, to understand that Senator Dillon is performing his constitutional mandate and not acting to undermine anyone,” Minister Kruah said.

At the close of the meeting, Senator Dillon emphasized that he holds no personal grievances against the Minister.

“I hold nothing against Minister Kruah. My quest is to ensure Liberians get the jobs they deserve,” Dillon said. “I vow not to back down from my advocacy.”

MARGIBI WOMEN ALLIANCE FOR PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT CONDEMNS ALLEGED GANG R**E AND DEATH OF RUTH; URGES PROMPT POLICE INVESTIGATION

KAKATA, MARGIBI COUNTY – The Margibi Women Alliance for Peace and Development (MWAPD) condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the alleged gang r**e and subsequent death of a young woman identified as "Ruth," whose body was discovered in the Kakata General Market building earlier this week.

We extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased. We are profoundly saddened by this tragic, unexpected loss and the disturbing allegations of sexual violence surrounding her death.
In light of the gravity of this situation, the MWAPD hereby calls on the Liberia National Police (LNP) to launch a swift, comprehensive, and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ruth’s death.

Given that the victim was reportedly discovered in a naked state, indicating a heinous violation of her dignity, it is imperative that the authorities act expeditiously to determine the cause of death and identify the perpetrators. As an organization dedicated to protecting the rights and well-being of women and girls, we wish to state for the record that we unequivocally condemn all forms of violence against women—most especially the horrific crime of r**e.

The Alliance reaffirms its commitment to following this case closely. We will not rest until an impartial investigation is conducted and those involved are brought to book in accordance with the rule of law. We will continue to fight for the protection and empowerment of women and girls across Liberia.

LDEA AUTHORITIES ARE IN ACTION LIBERIA:
PATRICK - BIAGO WAR FOR LIBERIA'S SAFETY.

A 61-year-old taxi driver, Michael Wallace, has been arrested in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, after the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) discovered co***ne and ma*****na worth over USD 55,000 in his vehicle on November 26, 2025.

The LDEA intercepted Wallace at the Owens Grove checkpoint based on intelligence about illegal drug transportation. A search revealed 1 kilogram of co***ne valued at USD 54,000 and 12.7 kilograms of compressed ma*****na worth USD 1,270, hidden in a sealed carton in his taxi.

Wallace claimed he was unaware of the drugs, stating he was given the carton by an unknown man in Monrovia for delivery. He is currently in custody and will face charges after the LDEA's investigation.

Liberia 🇱🇷
LIS Boss Under Fire for Alleged Overreach and Misuse of Authority.

Serious concerns are emerging within the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) as senior officers accuse newly appointed Commissioner General Elijah Rufus of misunderstanding his official duties and allegedly bypassing established institutional procedures.

According to LIS personnel who spoke on condition of anonymity, the new Commissioner General “does not fully understand the scope of his responsibilities,” and has reportedly issued directives that contradict the agency’s mandate. One officer told Legit News in an exclusive interview that Rufus even attempted to “order arrests outside of LIS jurisdiction,” raising alarm among professionals within the service.

In a further point of contention, the LIS leadership acknowledged that certain personnel issues were recently identified but admitted forwarding those matters to the National Security Agency (NSA) for investigation, an action critics say violates the operational boundaries of the LIS.

“The Commissioner General assigned his own team and pushed the issues to the NSA, effectively transferring LIS functions to another agency,” a senior officer alleged. “That is not our mandate, and it undermines the authority of the LIS.”

The latest developments have intensified internal frustration and raised broader questions about governance, professionalism, and adherence to statutory roles within the country’s immigration sector.

In Response, LIS Boss told this News Outlet to go ahead with it's publication and have no time waste on insignificant issues.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of justice has reportedly summoned the LIS Boss for further investigation into the matter.

Kakata city corporation employee facilitate colleague unprofessional behavior.

In a disturbing turn of events in Kakata, the Kakata City Corporation (KCC) is at the center of controversy after one of its employees was caught facilitating unprofessional behavior. Reports emerged that a KCC employee, while purportedly addressing street selling issues, was actually caught in a compromising situation himself.

A woman who was peacefully selling goods along Kakata Main Street found herself at the receiving end of this employee's unprofessional conduct. According to the woman, she was approached by the KCC employee while passing by, only to be subjected to harassment and coercion to engage in street selling.

As tensions escalated, the woman found herself defending her right to conduct business in a lawful manner. Shockingly, the situation took a turn for the worse when the KCC employee began insulting not only the woman but also a journalist who attempted to intervene and shed light on the situation.

This incident has sparked outrage among the citizens of Kakata, who are demanding accountability from the KCC for its role in facilitating such unacceptable behavior. As the story unfolds, the true extent of the corruption and abuse of power within the KCC is slowly coming to light, leaving many disillusioned and desperate for change.

In a city where trust in local governance is already shaky, this incident has only further eroded public confidence in the authorities. The time has come for justice to prevail and for those responsible to be held accountable for their actions.

LEGISPOOL WELCOMES SPEAKER KOON’S OPEN APOLOGY IN CHAMBERS, CALLS FOR RESPECTFUL ENGAGEMENT AND STRONGER COLLABORATION

CAPITOL HILL – The Legislative Press Pool (LEGISPOOL) welcomes the open apology delivered in Chambers by House Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon to journalists covering the House of Representatives, following our leadership’s engagement with the Speaker and the House’s Communication Team. This public acknowledgment demonstrates maturity, leadership, and a genuine commitment to rebuilding trust between lawmakers and the press corps.

LEGISPOOL appreciates the Speaker’s call for improved collaboration and assures the public that journalists assigned at the Legislature remain committed to professionalism, ethical reporting, fairness, and accuracy in their work.

However, LEGISPOOL underscores that press freedom, safety, and respect for journalists are foundational to Liberia’s democracy. No journalist should feel threatened or intimidated while performing duties within the Capitol Building.

We encourage all reporters to maintain high ethical standards, and we equally urge lawmakers and legislative staff to continue fostering an environment that supports transparency, mutual respect, and free reporting.

LEGISPOOL remains open to continuous engagement with the leadership of the House to strengthen cooperation and prevent future misunderstandings.
